Adam Lucas Himebauch Instagram - A very nice surprise to see Adam’s work reviewed and featured on the cover of the @nytimes Arts section this morning!

It’s been a long and humbling road but we’re so grateful his art is getting such recognition. Grab a copy and go see Retrospective at @trotterandsholer before it closes on the 17th!

(EDIT: They also debuted the documentary’s teaser trailer. We’ll repost soon!🙏)
Adam Lucas Himebauch Instagram - I’m heading to Korea next week! My next exhibition HERE COMES THE TWISTER opens on June 20th at @ganaart__official in Seoul.

I’ve never been to Korea, nor have I been anywhere else in Asia. The furthest East Ive been is Bulgaria and that was in my early 20s while hitchhiking. I’m incredibly excited and grateful for this opportunity. Once in a Lifetime even!

The show will open with a performance. 🙏

Adam Lucas Himebauch Instagram - Here are a few installation shots from my booth with @ceysson_benetiere at @artbrussels last month. It was my first time showing international in any significant way and I’m extremely happy with how everything turn out. Plus Brussels is so beautiful, I can’t wait to go back. 🙏

Adam Lucas Himebauch Instagram - “This is downtown, looking out my window. There’s a type of circus energy here. Always something to look at. I even added the outline of an elephant into the painting.”

See this large painting and more at Adam’s Never Ever Land exhibition @ 956 Madison Avenue. On view until March 16th. Adam is “in residence” until the 9th! -Sydney🚀

Adam Lucas Himebauch Instagram - “The human as spectacle will always garner the most attention, so I’d like all public visuals and adverts to feature the paintings. So they may act as a window to those who look with imagination.” -Adam Himebauch

A few more of Adam’s paintings go up on city walls etc to inspire peace and tranquility. Mostly downtown. The 3 install photos are from 2017 as he thought it would provide context. Thank you to all who continue to support! -Sydney ☀️

“The idea was to replicate the inviting texture of a paper assemblage on a large scale. So we took a photo of a collage and blew it up. The emotion to explore is replicated, but in a much more grand way. Depth, synthetic or otherwise, is everywhere. It’s like, what exactly am I looking at?” -Adam Himebauch

Thank you to @ceysson_benetiere for allowing this to happen and to @jordanroschwalb for submitting photo 2. The last time Adam’s work appeared in mural form was back in 2019 when the artist installed a large piece at @themarketline on the Lower East Side (Slide 3 &4).

Visit Adam’s project Never Ever Land until March 16th in person or online at himebauch.live. He’s currently on 17 days of straight meditation! -Sydney

“When I construct these collages I often think about stage design and the painted backdrop. It’s as if I’m Picasso assembling the paper models used in Parade or David Hockney putting together designs for an opera. It’s important for me to believe I know everything and nothing at the same time. -Adam Himebauch”

Adam Lucas Himebauch Instagram - The Long Drive To Hopper Hills. Named this way because back in 2020 I saw a painting by Edward Hopper and decided to copy it. Or at least the houses and the hills. You can see that first experiment on slide 6. I then made a larger study which was turned into a finished painting used in my Back To Future project (slide 7). Finally a few weeks ago I came back to said painting and added additional layers to the foreground. Voilà! An autumn scene full of motion.

I actually made a much larger version of this too. It’s probably 10 feet long (slide 8910).

Adam Lucas Himebauch Instagram - A painting painted in early November. This one is heavy on the whimsy and definitely plays with the trope of my inner child being addicted to cartoons and video games.

Appropriately titled “Dove Tales Woohoo,” the painting was shown in South Korea last week as part of an exhibition by @shin_gallery. A few additional paintings of mine were shown as well. Very grateful. 🙏

But it’s so funny where paintings can take you! Not focusing on the previous or the next, rather placing emphasis on whichever canvas is being worked on at the moment. To quote 1994’s Oscar award winning film, you never know what you’re gonna get. 🕊️

Adam Lucas Himebauch Instagram - A painting painted in early November. This one is heavy on the whimsy and definitely plays with the trope of my inner child being addicted to cartoons and video games.

Adam Lucas Himebauch Instagram - Here are 2 small paintings recently painted. The last few years I’ve really enjoyed working large as there’s a curious thing that happens to perception when a viewer stands in front of a seemingly life-sized landscape. But over the last few months I’ve been pressed to paint somewhat smaller. Beyond the rapid progress in technique, I’ve really enjoyed painting at this scale. It’s taught me not to treat everything soOoOo damn precious. There’s an underlying pressure that seems to build when working large, like everything is make or break. It’s a funny line to tow and one that is completely made-up!

Everything influences everything else. From drawings to collages to paintings, it’s one giant ouroboros. Really cyclical that way. I’m eager to see how the paintings change and evolve once I land back on the big painted picture plane. 🌀

Adam Lucas Himebauch - 804 Likes - A very nice surprise to see Adam’s work reviewed and featured on the cover of the @nytimes Arts section this morning!

At approximately 6:45pm tonight I will begin an endurance performance piece that will have me in a sustained meditative state for the duration of the exhibition. The team has built a designated livestream platform that will display my presence in the gallery 24/7 for 30 straight days. (LINK IN BIO)

Sydney of @sydneyonthescene will be handling all posting and updates on my social media accounts until the NEL art piece has concluded. Thank you for this opportunity and see you all in 4 weeks.

Wish me luck! 🚀

It’s probably 10 feet long (slide 8910).

Adam Lucas Himebauch - 3 Likes - Here are 2 small paintings recently painted.
