Amos Heller Instagram - Argentina te amo! We live in a world with quite a bit of hype. So when something truly lives up to it, you must take note. Flowers must be delivered. Argentina, you are everything everyone said you would be. You bathed us in love and screams and joy all night. I heard some of you were camped outside for ages. I took that with me on stage last night, striving to be worthy of the time, effort and expense it takes to come see this show. I am trying to commit to memory as much of this irreplaceable experience as I can. ( thanks for the slide 1 shot niece extrordinaire @logannbelle) I’ll admit I was a little surprised at how much I loved watching it. It’s a completely different experience than being a part of the show, and I was free to just enjoy it. I sang along. I air drummed. I 123’ed. I got to be a fan. The premiere was wild. Amos Heller Instagram - Look at that FACE I was just telling a friend of mine I won’t know what this year really was until I have some kind of distance and perspective on it. The rehearsals, opening the tour, THE TOUR, THE MOVIE OF THE TOUR, and all the re-record releases. And it’s only October. It’s been an honor of a lifetime to be called upon to contribute to this quest. It’s a challenge of precision and musicianship and effort and shared wisdom. I’ve learned a ton doing it. I remember hearing this for the first time. Walking away with “Out Of The Woods” banging around in my head for days. Thinking: she did it. She really left one genre for another. Thinking: the story of the genre switch isn’t going to matter if the album isn’t good. Thinking: man this album is GOOD. It’s hard to remember a time before these songs were out in the world. I don’t know if I have ever been to Japan in the winter, and the sleek beauty of Tokyo is only enhanced by the Mystic atmosphere of a snowfall. The schedule of the Eras tour is such that every few months we have a break to go home and re-enter civilian life and reflect briefly on the wild experience that is taking this amazing music all over the world. I don’t take it for granted that I get to look down and see so many different joyful faces every night that I go to work. The folks that I get to ride this river with- some of the flat out best musicians and most wonderful people. And all this, after an absolutely astounding night for Taylor at the Grammys. And sometimes, when you reach the top of the mountain, you decide to go ahead and build a mountain of your own on top of it. I am inspired by her creativity, ambition, discipline, and kindness daily. Also, it needs to be mentioned that spending more time with his absolutely astounding @mikelullcustomguitars for is only revealing more of its balanced excellence. This album, that brings decade-old memories rocketing back, as well as this Taylor’s Version quest, where an artist bends and breaks rules to reclaim her art. Trying to stay on our feet in this glitzy maelstrom I thought: she does this all the time. I’m grateful to be given so many challenges and to feel like we are seen and appreciated for the work. The vision, the drive, the SONGS. She’s the only one that doesn’t get a break for 3.5 hours. And she spent all night sharing her spotlight with us. There were a lot of folks that worked behind the scenes not only to make sure this movie looked and sounded its best, but also made sure we had the best time at the premiere.
