![Andy Puddicombe - 5K Likes - Fourteen years ago, my dear friend and fellow co-founder Rich Pierson and I, started work on a little project called @headspace. Having stepped back from the company last year and now from the board, it’s time for us to bid @headspace a very fond farewell 🧡
With the @headspace @carebyginger merger last year, the new Headspace Health platform has brought together the very best of mental health services and a revolutionary approach. The scale, reach and breadth of the offering has exceeded our wildest dreams.
As founders, we want to give the new team all the space it needs to flourish and to fulfill the full potential of the platform. We have no doubt they will do so brilliantly, and that you will be thrilled with the plans they have in store.
On a personal level, it’s been an extraordinary privilege to walk alongside you on your meditation and mindfulness journey over the years. Your heartfelt stories of personal transformation have inspired and humbled us in equal measure and will stay with us forever.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for all your love, commitment and friendship. Thank you for being vulnerable, for showing up for one another, and for helping to change the way people think about meditation and talk about mental health.
And thank you to the remarkable team, past and present, who helped us take a simple idea and turn it into a global community of over 100 million people. That same help@headspace team will continue to be here for you with their support, motivation and guidance.
For those of you wondering, yes, you’ll still find me on the Headspace app. Over the years, I had the good fortune to record meditations, podcasts and so much more. This will remain on the platform to guide you alongside all the great content from the teachers and team.
And it’s my sincere wish that we will continue to meditate together on the app, that you will continue to draw inspiration from the many teachings, and that you will continue your journey with @headspace. As ever, I will be there in spirit every step of the way.

Caption : Earlier in the year, during lockdown in LA, we partnered with @netflix to make an animated show, called Headspace Guide to Meditation. It’s an 8 part series, exploring the mind to see how different meditation techniques can help us in everyday life. My hope is, that after such a difficult year for so many, it can bring some comfort and support. And that heading into another year with so much uncertainty, it can also help to offer some inspiration and direction. It launches on Netflix tomorrow 01/01/21…looking forward to hanging out with you then if you find some time to tune in. In the the meantime, wishing you good health, much happiness and lots of love for New Years and beyond 🧡Likes : 4830

Caption : We don’t sit with our eyes closed to become good at sitting with our eyes closed. We sit so that we can train the mind, understand the mind, cultivating awareness and compassion that can be put to use for the benefit of all. These qualities show up in the world in allowing us to cut through the noise, to listen to that which is spoken, and that which goes unsaid. They show up in allowing us to see the conditioned mind more clearly, to understand our biases and judgements and, recognizing their harm, to let them go. They allow us to transform understandable feelings of anger at injustices around the world and transform that energy into positive, lasting, meaningful action. They remind us that we are all interconnected, interdependent, that we have a responsibility to support one another, to care for one another. When we live our life in this way there is no room for prejudice, no room for bigotry, injustice or inequality of any kind. There is only room for love. Today, two weeks after his death, and after much reflection, I’m remembering George Floyd. And the countless innocent individuals and communities that, both now and in the past, have been subjected to prejudice, injustice, inequality and violence. There really is no excuse. We can all do better. We must do better. Meditation alone will not change things, but it can be an invaluable friend and support along the way X ps – if you’d like to check out the specific commitments Headspace is making to help promote diversity, equality and inclusion, please check out www.headspace.com/blm 📸 @yakoozaLikes : 3694

One of many monasteries I trained in as a monk, did a 365 day retreat there, almost 20 years ago! So many good memories, one of my fave retreats, and to this day one of the best meditation teachers I have ever met in the former abbot, Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche!Likes : 2609

You can find all that here: https://www.headspace.com/educators-covid-19 We know this is a pandemic, and we are doing our very best to reach individuals, organisations, and healthcare teams worldwide. This takes longer in some countries than others as we access associated ID databases. Thank you for your patience as we make that happen…and thank you to our incredible community and team for making all this possible. Stay safe. Be well. More to come. And please do share with all those who you think might benefit 🧡Likes : 2598

Caption : #tbt when I was teaching meditation in Moscow, I also did some teaching at a local school. There are not many schools that would have a Buddhist monk on staff – especially 15 years ago. Love that they were so accepting, and forever grateful for all the friends I made there. This was the first day of the school year and I’d just come back from a one year retreat at the monastery. Caption : Back with our friends at CBS News this morning, where I was joined by our Chief Science Officer and clinical psychologist, Dr Megan Jones-Bell, to announce the launch of Headspace Health. Headspace Health is developing the world’s first prescription meditation app, as an FDA-cleared treatment for chronic disease. This means that in the future, all being well, your doctor could prescribe Headspace as a digital medicine for a specific illness, covered by your health insurance. Still lots of work to do, but with multiple papers already published and over 60 research studies in progress around the world, the Headspace science team are making it happen. Thanks for all the hard work team – you guys are awesome! #headspacehealthLikes : 1975
