The rough poses and placements were there, but they didn’t have any character specificity. I was later given a big pdf with designs (mostly done by @kristaferanka I think) of all the characters the directors wanted to cast in this scene. They were so many! The cool thing is that I could decide where to place each of them in the image in order to get - in my opinion - the best composition possible for that key. Then it was just about finding a way to keep all those character readable and paint it the most efficiently possible, as time was running. Quite glad there was the T-Rex in the cast! Most of the lighting keys are painted over the CG layout/previs shots so at that stage the characters are in temporary poses and have no expressions yet! By the time those shots got animated I already painted the sequence- Looking back at those I wish I had been more proactive and at least open Miguel’s mouth to make the overall images less stiff looking! 😅 In those keys I also had to explore the look of the under-layers of Miguel’ suit when it gets damaged.
