Being here right now feels pretty damn good. You can’t see it, but I’m big smiling underneath that mask. You also can’t see that I’m wearing underwear, long underwear, two pairs of socks, a thermal shirt, T-shirt, a flannel and a hoodie underneath that coat. I arrived in Montana in the dark of night and woke up bleary eyed to all this beauty. The accommodations aren’t so bad, either. I got to a place where I was like what is point of doing anything? SO, I sat at home for 5 months, ate jalapeño Cheetos, drank too much and watched tv. I can’t lie. I did kinda like it but then I woke up 3 weeks ago and was jarred into reality. I saw myself. I had a play-doh belly, that touched the tops of my legs when I bent over, and the beginnings of boobs. On my frame; nope. Plus, I want to live to be 1000. So, I made a promise to fix that, changed my diet, stopped drinking, and started walking 2 to 3 miles a night. Every Saturday, this group does a monster hike and I’ve joined them the last two weeks. Today we hiked Mishe Mokwa in the Santa Monica mountains. 5.8 miles. It was HARD. I mostly hate this lifestyle change, but I did this to myself, and every step I take is a way back and fulfilling the promise I made to myself. I will do this for exactly as long as it takes to feel good about disrobing in front of people again😈, and then I will move forward, and be more aware of what I do to and put in my body. I hate hashtags.

Every Saturday, this group does a monster hike and I’ve joined them the last two weeks. Today we hiked Mishe Mokwa in the Santa Monica mountains. 5.8 miles. It was HARD. I mostly hate this lifestyle change, but I did this to myself, and every step I take is a way back and fulfilling the promise I made to myself. I will do this for exactly as long as it takes to feel good about disrobing in front of people again😈, and then I will move forward, and be more aware of what I do to and put in my body. I hate hashtags.

DJ Qualls Instagram - I’ve worked steadily for over 20 years. Never without a job I loved. In 2019 both of my tv shows ended and now I feel like I can’t get arrested. I’ve done one job in the past year, it was an amazing one, but still it was one job. Thank you @realgdt I love it so much and I needed it. I feel like the industry I gave my life to has turned its back on me. My behavior didn’t suffer. I didn’t do a bunch of things that flopped. I did come out publicly, tho, and I have to wonder if that is why. No matter. I’m not working in the same way I was. In the last year, I turned to conventions. This photo fills me up. Through all this, I kept saying to myself “2018 is clearly supposed to be a time of change. You can get through this.” And I did. It wasn’t all bad, though. Far from it. My friend Nikki Reed is one of those dear few. I’ve known her for 15 years and whenever we are in the same room, I am home. She’s launched a company called BaYou with Love. As the Covid-19 isolation drags on, I’m spending my time learning about contemporary art and artists (I’m not going to put together a puzzle or exercise on camera, although that would be hilarious). It’s an area I know very little about and haven’t until recently started to collect. These are the 3rd and 4th pieces I’ve added to the collection since I’ve been locked away and I am IN LOVE. Granted, as a member of the unemployed, it’s not the best time for me to be buying things but credit cards are enablers and I have a problem. The Plastic Rainbow, 1970 Robert S Neuman Gouache, colored pencil and crayon on deckled edge paper. As always, I’m full disclosure about pricing because I’m passionate about affordable collecting and accessibility. Works on paper represent a huge value in the art market. A drawing or painting on paper from a noted artist who has works in major museums can run anywhere from a few hundred dollars to well, sky is the limit, really. A work on canvas is 5, 10 times that price. When I look at works on paper, I try to focus on pieces in the $300 to $3000 range, depending on the artist, with my sweet spot being under $1,500. This piece, which is on the larger side, was $1,500. The auction estimate was $600 to $800 and I knew it would go for more. $1500 (around $2,000 with auction fees and shipping) was the absolute limit I was willing to go and it worked out this time. Companion, 2016 @kaws Painted vinyl These “toys” are from open editions that are released a couple times a year and usually retail for $200 to $400. They sell out quickly because people want to resell them for more money ☹️. I bought this for $330 new in its sealed packaging. I think they are a good way to have an affordable piece of art from a living artist in your homes. Side note: TAKE THEM OUT OF THE PACKAGING. Yeah, it probably devalues them a little but they are meant to be displayed and enjoyed. I think you’re an investor not a collector when you keep things hidden away. Then a security guy at Düsseldorf airport yelled at us and a sample sized contact solution nearly caused an international incident. Ok, a bit of bad luck, who cares? “Hey Chelsea, let’s hit the bar!” It was so fun. We had the best cheese pretzel we’d ever had (and the booze wasn’t bad, either). But the mood went south again. I’m getting some hard looks. Now we get to the last photo. How did I wind up the 12th most despised man in Europe on Dec 6th? Are their clues in photos 7, 8 and 9? I don’t like things on places, but I guess, deep down, I AM an old British man who wears tweed and finds things “terribly interesting.” (Pic 8) Over the years this place has seen so many parties, housed so many people, heard so much laughter and so many tears (which I can’t show you). It’s also the place where I can hide (hermit) when I feel tired or defeated and I need to build up my stamina to go back out and try again. Sometimes it gets a bit weird. I was the Night King! And the next morning I regretted that decision. (Pics 9-10) I am so grateful that I got to realize my dreams of pretending for a living, have people respond to want I’ve done and have the continued goodwill of my colleagues. As the Covid-19 isolation drags on, I’m spending my time learning about contemporary art and artists (I’m not going to put together a puzzle or exercise on camera, although that would be hilarious). It’s an area I know very little about and haven’t until recently started to collect. These are the 3rd and 4th pieces I’ve added to the collection since I’ve been locked away and I am IN LOVE. Granted, as a member of the unemployed, it’s not the best time for me to be buying things but credit cards are enablers and I have a problem. The Plastic Rainbow, 1970 Robert S Neuman Gouache, colored pencil and crayon on deckled edge paper. As always, I’m full disclosure about pricing because I’m passionate about affordable collecting and accessibility. Works on paper represent a huge value in the art market. A drawing or painting on paper from a noted artist who has works in major museums can run anywhere from a few hundred dollars to well, sky is the limit, really. A work on canvas is 5, 10 times that price. When I look at works on paper, I try to focus on pieces in the $300 to $3000 range, depending on the artist, with my sweet spot being under $1,500. This piece, which is on the larger side, was $1,500. The auction estimate was $600 to $800 and I knew it would go for more. $1500 (around $2,000 with auction fees and shipping) was the absolute limit I was willing to go and it worked out this time. Companion, 2016 @kaws Painted vinyl These “toys” are from open editions that are released a couple times a year and usually retail for $200 to $400. They sell out quickly because people want to resell them for more money ☹️. I bought this for $330 new in its sealed packaging. I think they are a good way to have an affordable piece of art from a living artist in your homes. Side note: TAKE THEM OUT OF THE PACKAGING. Yeah, it probably devalues them a little but they are meant to be displayed and enjoyed. I think you’re an investor not a collector when you keep things hidden away.
