I allowed old traumas to dictate my New Reality, I have allowed myself to be used and drained emotionally and Financially because I had to keep the people that love me in my life,happy, in order to deserve that love. That’s not real! That’s called systematic self destruction built off of Religious and small town trauma triggers, which I have outgrown. It’s been quite a year for all of us. Heartbreak, triumph, pain, happiness, anger, and all the other emotions in between. Something I’ve learned is I deserve all of these emotions and it’s my responsibility to respect them and choose how I react to them. It’s been the hardest thing I’ve ever done and the easiest all at the same time; that is to Live MY LIFE FOR ME! Something through my recovery journey and therapy helped open myself up to the truth of who I am, something fully changed in me. It made me happy. Truly, now I make the right decisions for myself and the people I love. I’m not perfect and that’s ok. Cause I have been torn and damaged and beaten and etc…. BUT that’s no longer all I remember. I’m in recovery as most of you know already but I am coming back into doing this thing I do where if it doesn’t have 20 million likes and comments I remove and try again. This is also addiction acting up. We are so trained to be these robot influencers and when it’s not fun or validating it not enough and neither are we.

I say this cause I pressure myself to be entertaining all the time and through recovery I continue to learn how to just live.

This last 6 months of my life was really hard. Some beauty in it but I fell into old behaviors and old trans trauma as I transition again, now later in life. Blessed to have gone through it cause I’ve noticed things in my life that don’t make sense.

I’ve had people I care about do me really badly and I let them cause I need to protect my image and I lacked self worth. This is built off of Child abuse trauma and peer trauma growing up. (This has been the root of all my addiction and self destruction) (I deal with success guilt)

I’m done being the one to give so much to these people and be left broken from it. Or left broken by my own self destructive behaviors, because when you allow yourself to be mistreated you treat yourself even worse.

Even my family has thrived off of my insecurity because I’ve enabled so many by just throwing my money, clothes, costumes, love, compliments and not real time and love because I’m so traumatized I only see my worth in being useful and giving.

I’ve taught people to not appreciate me because I’ve not appreciated myself, that’s changing and it’s such a new life. It’s lonely but not nearly as lonely, as filling under appreciated or self destruction.

Because I’ve trained others to do this to me I’ve been guilty of doing it to others as well. I’m no victim I’m just learning some stuff I thought I could avoid. This life, our higher power has put us on this earth to learn. I’m learning everyday.

Moral of the story. Believe in my own true worth for my own opinion for how I see myself is what affects me the most.

Also if people treat you wrong drop them bitches and put that energy in yourself and let them figure their own shit Out!

Ive been very focused on my transition in life, work, and health that I haven’t gotten to pause and reflect on self care. This was a living dream. I’ve never been to the ballet but growing up I dreamed of being a Ballerina and dancer but when taking classes I was too insecure to truly shine. Luckily drag gave me a place to try and feel graceful. However “Center Stage”, one of my all time fave films, made me obsessed with Ballet. I cried last night and gasped at the amazing Costumes and performances. One of the Design Managers of the Ballet @marchappelnyc hooked Mother up with a ticket and I’m so appreciative! The hardest part has been living up to societies idea of what a woman looks like. I’m really good at putting the work in with makeup and style but when it’s all stripped away and I step out of the shower I still see David. I’ve not had time to develop my transition or have my desired modifications which makes me fucking terrified to share the image I currently see in the mirror.

However this is step one of me being honest and hopefully, overtime I’ll feel more comfortable. It’s crazy because I want to work hard on acting and I don’t mind playing male or female roles. Yet in my everyday life, I’m a woman! And I want to be seen as such. I want to be seen as who I am.

With all of the bills being proposed in more than 45 states, it’s hard to not feel scared. While I personally am in a safe space, there are thousands of adult and youth trans / non-binary individuals that are not. We must continue to fight against this injustice towards our community.

Through everything going on in legislation against drag, to the continued legislation of removing rights for trans individuals I’ve become scared and insecure. Also being from TN with the fear of not being able to get my documents changed to have a valid ID with my REAL Name, I have continued to become fearful and insecure. So what I’m doing is trying to celebrate myself through those feelings and showing up, for myself, especially my health, hopefully that means standing up for others. What I have learned through recovery and therapy, and honestly being authentic and kind to myself is, doing things that make me feel good but not the things that harm me or give me the false feeling of Good. I look to my higher power today and I pray to my Goddess and angels Ulrike, Geneva, Janice, Diana, Chi Chi, Chelsea and Lady Red and I know everything’s gonna be OK. I love you.
