Caption : Today @johncarpenterofficial , Cody Carpenter @ludrium and @daniel_davies announce details of forthcoming album ‘Lost Themes IV: Noir’, set for release on the 3rd of May on @sacredbones . The lead single and scene-setting album opener “My Name Is Death”, feels like new territory for Carpenter. A driving, almost punkish bassline initiates the action, before being joined by washes of atmospheric synth, pulsing drum machine, and, at the song’s climax, a smoldering guitar solo. If the goal of the Lost Themes project is to create music that’s as cinematic as anything we can picture in our heads, “My Name Is Death” might be the group’s most successful effort yet. The accompanying video, starring Carpenter, Carpenter and Davies alongside Natalie Mering (@weyesblood ), Staz Lindes (@theparanoyds ) and Misha Lindes (@wearesadgirl ) is a miniature noir movie in itself, directed by Ambar Navarro and produced by Hannah Kinlaw. John Carpenter comments: “Noir is a uniquely American genre born in post-war cinema. We grew up loving Noir and were influenced by it for this new album. The video celebrates this style and our new song, My Name is Death.” Link in bio to watch the incredible video now! Caption : Donation Link : https://rb.gy/sqxdm . . All our favorite horror films, stories, books, graphic novels, podcasts, and more began with putting pen to paper. George was not only a visionary filmmaker but also a prolific and talented writer. His contributions to the world of horror extended beyond the camera, as he crafted compelling narratives that explored societal issues through the lens of the undead. His works often delved into themes of societal collapse, human nature under duress, and the consequences of unchecked scientific experimentation, leaving a lasting imprint on both the horror genre and the broader world of storytelling. George’s legacy as a writer continues to inspire and terrify audiences, ensuring his place as a true literary luminary in the realm of horror. The GARF honors his legacy by supporting the next generation of horror writers through our 2023-2024 initiatives, including the “The Dead” podcast with Bloody Disgusting, Screams in a Box, Outpost 5, and our upcoming project in development, a virtual “summer camp” for aspiring horror writers. ![John Carpenter - 5.6K Likes - Today @johncarpenterofficial shares a second look at his forthcoming collection, ‘Anthology II (Movie Themes 1976-1988)’, set for release on October 6th via @sacredbones ‘Anthology II’ continues the celebration of his compositional genius via an excellently sequenced collection of some of his most iconic pieces of music from his extensive filmography, all newly recorded with his musical collaborators @daniel_davies and @ludrium Cody Carpenter.
Following the previously shared album opener “Chariots of Pumpkins” from Halloween III, today he offers up the newly re-worked version of ‘69th St. Bridge’ from Escape From New York - a dynamic track that encapsulates the futuristic and gritty nature of the film and the intensity and urgency of the protagonist’s mission via the use of throbbing bass lines, driving rhythms, and electronic textures.
Carpenter comments: “This piece played during a chase across an imaginary bridge. Isaac Hayes was going after Kurt Russell, and I wanted to create music that fit the feel of the scene. [At the time of recording Anthology II] I wanted to include more music from Escape From New York, and after re-listening to the soundtrack, this piece stood out to me as one that I wanted to try recreating and modernizing. It was fun recreating the various synth parts note by note, a very different process than how I originally recorded the piece back in the 80s.”
The track comes with a visualiser by Adam Fuchs @lilfuchs and Chris Bilheimer which you can now watch at the link in bio!](https://www.gethucinema.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/John-Carpenter-1-Y6PhpQ5234.jpg)

Caption : Sutter Cane movie prop books – $250 plus shipping (11oz) * These are original screen-used prop books from the 1994 motion picture John Carpenter’s In the Mouth of Madness. These props are extremely rare. We have less than 100 books, and once they’re gone, they’re GONE. * One book per customer. Any duplicate orders will be canceled. We want these to reach as many real fans as possible. We’re not selling these for people to flip and make a profit. * It is possible that these will sell out in a few minutes. Having it in your cart does not guarantee you will get it if it sells out before you finish your transaction. This is out of our control. * Books are $250 shipping and are available to fans world-wide, but please note, the customs form will be filled out for the selling price of $250. You are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply upon delivery. * You will receive ONE randomly selected title from the following list of books: The Hobbes End Horror, The Whisperer of the Dark, The Thing in the Basement, Haunter out of Time, The Feeding, or The Breathing Tunnel. * These are prop books, not “real” books. Each book contains the same page repeated through the entire book. (This was so Julie Carmen could pick up any book, open to any page, and read the quoted text.) * These books are thirty years old and have been in our warehouse since filming for In The Mouth of Madness wrapped. They are all in good, but NOT MINT condition. Some show signs of wear. * These books are NOT signed by John Carpenter or Sandy King, nor do they come with a COA. * Do YOU read Sutter Cane? Caption : John Carpenter has referred to the Lost Themes compositions as “soundtracks for the movies in your mind.” On the fourth installment in the series, those movies are noirs. The music video for John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies’ “My Name Is Death” from Lost Themes IV: Noir is perfectly fitting; and it was shot by longtime Synth History collaborators: director Ambar Navarro (@ambarbecutie) and cinematographer Max Flick (@max_flick). You know I had to ask them about their experience working with the master of horror! Head over to the Synth History site to check out some BTS photos by @cloudyytots, an excerpt from a conversation with John, and Three Q’s with Ambar and Max. Catch “My Name is Death” on the big screen at @vidiots March 21st. Lost Themes IV: Noir is out May 3rd on @sacredbonesLikes : 4361
