Leeann Tweeden Instagram - This is from my very first shoot with FHM magazine. We were on location in a house in Malibu. I remember feeling self conscious about my body (I was not as ‘skinny’ as a lot of my contemporaries)…but everyone on this set were really supportive. I wish I could go back and smack this younger version of me and tell her she was just fine as she was! I spent a lot of my modeling career being told I needed to lose weight or being compared to girls that were thinner than I was. I look at this picture now and think, why was I so hard on myself?! But that is what the industry makes you feel. You’re bombarded with magazine images and billboards and are constantly told what ‘standards’ you should be living up to. And if not, you’re reminded by the people in the business… I was lucky enough that I did work a lot, and eventually the world came to love women and their more voluptuous bodies like J.Lo and Beyoncé. That acceptance was a turning point… Beauty comes in all forms. We have to remind ourselves to love who we are. It’s exhausting spending your whole life trying to be what you’re not. Beauty is everywhere and within everyone. ✨
Leeann Tweeden Instagram - I just found some videos from my days on Fitness Beach (espn2)… I laugh about it now cause I know no one was working out with us that early in the morning! 😆 I remember people telling me they’d be coming in after an all-nighter and watch before they fell asleep. I think at one point the New York Times said we were the highest rated fitness show on television. So backstory…I was not from the fitness world. The other women were world aerobics champions and fitness champions but they needed someone that was not from that world and who would always show the easier versions of the workout as we went along. I mean, I can’t even keep a straight face as I’m writing this because it all seems so comical now. But man, it was a great gig! Being paid to fly down to Jamaica every year to workout on the beach?!! YES PLEASE!!!! And I did have to become certified as a personal trainer before I could go on the air. ESPN rules…but it was cool! I loved going to class and doing all that… Great memories and a fun time in my career!
Leeann Tweeden Instagram - This is 50! I am so grateful to be celebrating this milestone birthday for many reasons. For one, my mother never made it this far. She died of breast cancer when she was 46. These pictures were taken 3 weeks ago by my dear friends. I have known Mario and Michelle since I was 19. Joi, I have known since I was in my 30’s. I wanted to document my life at 50, but there was another reason. We shot these pictures the day before I went in to have breast surgery. My yearly mammogram in March revealed abnormal tissue in my left breast. After many mammograms, a biopsy, ultra sounds and MRIs, pathology came back NO CANCER, but that I had two types of pre-cancerous cells growing. Decision was made to have a lumpectomy and remove the surrounding tissue. Grateful that in the post-op pathology, that tissue was also found to have no cancer. So no need for radiation or hormone therapy. 🙏🏼 Now, it is vigilance and continued yearly mammograms. Thank God for modern medicine. I’m here for another trip around the sun! I am so fortunate to be loved by my incredible husband and beautiful children. I couldn’t imagine this life without them. ♥️ (And a special thank you to my friends who looked out for me and my family during my surgery and recovery. From picking up our kids at school, the text messages from afar, sending of flowers and groceries…I have no words. Just know how much I love and appreciate each and every one of you!)

Leeann Tweeden Instagram - Just read that the great Franco Harris has passed away. What a sports legend and a great man. In the first photo, we were guests of the Sergeant Major of the Army, Ken Preston, visiting troops while they were training outside DC. And the second is of me with Franco and the great, Mr. Ernie Banks. This was the 2006 All Star Game that I played in with both of these incredible humans in Pittsburgh. (I can’t believe they’re both gone.😔) A funny side note, when I was a kid, I’d hear the name Franco Harris and I used to think he was Frank O’Harris. 😆🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ My husband still doesn’t let me live that down… RIP Mr. Harris. Honored to have met you. 🙏🏼 #immaculatereception @steelers

Leeann Tweeden Instagram - Happy World Ballet Day! This is a picture of me when I got to be part of a charity version of The Nutcracker done by the Oakland Ballet! I was doing The Best Damn Sports Show at the time, so I was asked along with baseball stars @cc_sabathia & @barryzitomusic (and manager Tony LaRussa) to be a part of the show to help raise money for charity. And since I danced in my youth, I was given an extra part during the show with the professional ballet dancers! What a privilege. I literally flew in for rehearsals straight from a USO Tour in the Middle East. I was exhausted, but it was well worth it! It’s still a memory I will cherish forever! 🩰♥️

Leeann Tweeden Instagram - We took the kids to Pearl Harbor so they could see the history they’re learning about. We visited the USS Arizona (story to come) and took a tour of the USS Missouri. So much history with this ship. It was the place where the Japanese surrendered to end WWII, then it was retired in 1955 only to be un-retired by Reagan in 1986 and made it into Desert Storm in the ‘90’s. (In between that time, the Navy agrees to let Cher film her music video for ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ in 1989. It was very controversial…) Mighty Mo was finally retired for the final time in 1992 and became the museum it is today in 1998. @usnavy
Leeann Tweeden Instagram - This past Sunday, Chris assumed command of the 146th Airlift Wing. (The Hollywood Guard!) Most people in their military career never make it this far. He never wanted this position, but was selected by his leaders and he accepted with grace. My husband is a very humble man, and just wants to be a good leader to his airmen and women. He is honest and fair and always has an open door policy for anyone looking for guidance or knowledge. We have been together on this journey for 19 years now and I couldn’t be more proud of the man he is. An exceptional human being, incredible husband, father and friend. We love you babe! And we are so, so PROUD! ♥️🇺🇸

But today as I was bringing snacks to Kane’s first basketball game of Fourth Grade, I happened to turn and look over my shoulder and there was @paulstanleylive!!! Such an LA moment but I immediately introduced myself and told him I was a big fan. I had met him yeeeears ago when KISS played the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland with Ted Nugent! @brandi_is_the_new_black remembers! We ended up having a great conversation about our kids and the stresses brought about by parents when it comes to higher education. Come to find out, he ended up being on the wrong side of campus for his son’s game but we took this pic before he made his way over there. Kane was oblivious…but I did make him stop and I introduced him to Mr. Stanley. 🤭🥳🤘🏼 Thank you for being so cool Paul! Hope you found the gym after all that!

Leeann Tweeden Instagram - Ok. I know I posted a story yesterday with a different angle of this dance class with the absolute BADASS that is @heatherrelizabethh. Going in, I was feeling a little insecure about myself and my dancing abilities…but this class was a great space to feel confident and just be who you are…regardless if you’re a professional or a beginner like me. I danced when I was Kaia’s age but stopped. I have always wanted to dance as an adult. I watch this video and see lots of room for improvement and figuring out how to move my body better…but I feel like I can continue to figure it out and be the best version of me I can be. (Bad knees and all from playing sports!) There is something to be said for putting yourself out of your comfort zone and finding the confidence it takes to pull this off. And let me tell you…dancing in heels is no joke! But it definitely puts you in the mood and helps give you the attitude to pull it off! Funny, when I was modeling, even if you weren’t doing a full length shot, we always put on the heels to get into character. You just feel different and hold your body differently when you’ve got the full gear on. I had a great time learning from Heather…listening to her lifting us up and giving us space to be sexy and confident. THANK YOU HEATHER!! ♥️ 👯‍♀️ And all with a group of a women I had never met before but hope to dance with again soon! 💃🏻✨

Kaia’s 2nd Grade performed the Wizard of Oz and Kaia was a dancing poppy. Both of them worked hard to memorize their lines and learn new songs. I love that our school really puts an emphasis on performing and public speaking along with a rigorous focus on academics. ♥️

Years ago, I had the privilege of flying with them at their California training facility in El Centro when I was doing the Best Damn Sports Show. It was an experience I’ll never forget! The last time we saw the Blue Angels perform at Pt Mugu was in 2016, when Kaia was only 10 days old! Kane was only 2 years old, but he loved it then too! And yes, here’s a nod to @vanhalen who used the Blue Angels in their music video for ‘Dreams’…

Leeann Tweeden Instagram - On Sunday, we welcomed our troops home from a 3-month deployment. It is never easy being away from your family and friends. Missing birthdays and anniversaries and school events. But they do it. I have waited for Chris to come home more times than I wish to recount over the past 19 years. It was easier before we had kids. Seeing the children there Sunday brings all of those emotions back. Thank you to our California Airmen and Women for their sacrifice. It does not go unnoticed. ♥️🇺🇸

The first half of the program was lead by the great @gustavodudamel, with John coming on for the second half. (Selections from Indiana Jones, the Jurassic Park and Schindler’s List themes and then closing with 3 songs from Star Wars)… After a few encores (like ET), John finally stepped back up on the podium and this happened!!! Halfway through Dudamel came out and surprised us carrying a light saber! Then he handed John a light saber baton and we were all there for it! I love that everyone embraces all of the things we love about these movies! I had no idea when I was younger the impact these soundtracks would have on my life. A few notes can immediately take you back to your childhood or a time and place that held amazing memories…or even not so happy ones. The minute we heard the Superman theme start, we knew we would be picking that as the family movie the next night. We were sharing something from our childhood with our kids…tied in with the music we just heard live in concert. I am all about making memories and sharing experiences together as a family. Thank you Mr. Williams for writing (and continuing to write) the soundtrack of our lives!!! It’s easy to get caught up in our barbecues and picnics, but let’s not forget the real reason for having an extra day off work...it is our time to respect and honor those men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. The holiday, which is celebrated every year on the final Monday of May, was formerly known as Decoration Day and originated after the American Civil War to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the Civil War. By the 20th century, Memorial Day had been extended to honor all Americans who have died while in the military service. On Memorial Day in 2010, my husband (who was temporarily stationed in Germany for the Air Force) and I made it a point to drive to the small country of Luxembourg to visit The Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial. It’s was very cold and raining heavily but it was the only chance we had to visit. So we bundled up and grabbed our umbrellas and paid our respects. We were the only visitors except for 2 groundskeepers. Luxembourg is also the place where General Patton is buried. It was his request that after he died, he wanted ‘to be buried with my men.’ Let’s never forget. #memorialday #rememberthefallen

I got to do some incredible things while being part of the Best Damn Sports Show on Fox Sports. When I was asked about doing a hockey piece, I was a little nervous. Leeann Tweeden Instagram - So Kane told me one day that he’d like to get a ukulele. He already plays the piano and the violin, but I said, OK because playing music is never a bad thing! He listens to @boywithuke and I know he was inspired by that. I had to find a place to get a ukulele (and ended up buying one for myself;) and found out they do jam sessions every Saturday afternoon. We sat in two weeks ago and were taught about six chords and away we went. Kaia isn’t convinced she wants to try it yet, so she came and watched us yesterday. She did take my phone and got some video…with fingers and hands in the shot of course! 😆🥳 I love sharing this experience with Kane. I will always be there to support and encourage him. And I get to have a little fun too! (This will be like my piano playing…not very good but having fun doing it!) As my girlfriend Tracey keeps saying to me…we’re living! ♥️
Leeann Tweeden Instagram - Today I’ve thought about all of the people in my life that have served our country. That includes my father who served in Vietnam, my husband who is still serving and many other family members and dear friends that have all worn the uniform. Today the country remembers them, but I think about them every day. It’s a tiny percentage of Americans who volunteer to put on the uniform and serve. I am grateful for each and every one of you. If you gave a few years or dedicated your life to service, THANK YOU. I thought about joining at one point in my life. I didn’t, but that guilt of not serving my country led me to do all I could for them. I did 16 USO Tours, 14 of those I visited the Middle East. I spent Thanksgivings and Christmas Holidays with our troops. I visited wounded warriors in the hospitals at home and abroad. I worked with charities to raise money and awareness. And I always wanted the family members to know we appreciate them and we care. Families serve right along with their loved one and the burdens often fall on them. Leeann Tweeden Instagram - This just popped up in my memories. 9 years ago, Chris came home from a months-long deployment to the Middle East. He left when Kane was a few months old. Needless to say we were SOOO excited when he stepped off that plane! Well…I was excited! Kane, not so much. 😭🤭 FaceTime was an amazing tool that we used to show Chris a lot of ‘firsts’ while he was gone, but there is nothing like being together at home. And don’t worry, Kane warmed up to Daddy about an hour after this video. He was just tired (nap time!), it was extremely hot and he was just overstimulated with all the people and the loud noises. Funny, the things I remember about this day are being nervous and giddy at the same time. Almost like dating for the first time all over again. I wanted to look beautiful for Chris and was hoping he thought that when he first saw me again. And all I wanted was for us to be home, making up for lost time as a new little family. #militarylife

My husband wasn’t part of this round, but it’s still hard to watch families having to say goodbye…knowing they’re going to miss holidays and birthdays and life milestones. Three months is a long time to be apart from your family. Especially when you’re in harms way. These men and women of the California Air National Guard will be heavy on my mind and my heart until they return home safe and sound. ♥️🙏🏼🇺🇸

I wish I could go back and smack this younger version of me and tell her she was just fine as she was! I spent a lot of my modeling career being told I needed to lose weight or being compared to girls that were thinner than I was. I look at this picture now and think, why was I so hard on myself?! But that is what the industry makes you feel. You’re bombarded with magazine images and billboards and are constantly told what ‘standards’ you should be living up to. And if not, you’re reminded by the people in the business… I was lucky enough that I did work a lot, and eventually the world came to love women and their more voluptuous bodies like J.Lo and Beyoncé. That acceptance was a turning point… Beauty comes in all forms. We have to remind ourselves to love who we are. It’s exhausting spending your whole life trying to be what you’re not. Beauty is everywhere and within everyone. ✨

My yearly mammogram in March revealed abnormal tissue in my left breast. After many mammograms, a biopsy, ultra sounds and MRIs, pathology came back NO CANCER, but that I had two types of pre-cancerous cells growing. Decision was made to have a lumpectomy and remove the surrounding tissue. Grateful that in the post-op pathology, that tissue was also found to have no cancer. So no need for radiation or hormone therapy. 🙏🏼 Now, it is vigilance and continued yearly mammograms. Thank God for modern medicine. I’m here for another trip around the sun! But today as I was bringing snacks to Kane’s first basketball game of Fourth Grade, I happened to turn and look over my shoulder and there was @paulstanleylive!!! Such an LA moment but I immediately introduced myself and told him I was a big fan. I had met him yeeeears ago when KISS played the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland with Ted Nugent! @brandi_is_the_new_black remembers! We ended up having a great conversation about our kids and the stresses brought about by parents when it comes to higher education. Come to find out, he ended up being on the wrong side of campus for his son’s game but we took this pic before he made his way over there. Kane was oblivious…but I did make him stop and I introduced him to Mr. Stanley. 🤭🥳🤘🏼 Thank you for being so cool Paul! Hope you found the gym after all that!

Going in, I was feeling a little insecure about myself and my dancing abilities…but this class was a great space to feel confident and just be who you are…regardless if you’re a professional or a beginner like me. I danced when I was Kaia’s age but stopped. I have always wanted to dance as an adult. I watch this video and see lots of room for improvement and figuring out how to move my body better…but I feel like I can continue to figure it out and be the best version of me I can be. (Bad knees and all from playing sports!) There is something to be said for putting yourself out of your comfort zone and finding the confidence it takes to pull this off. And let me tell you…dancing in heels is no joke! But it definitely puts you in the mood and helps give you the attitude to pull it off! Funny, when I was modeling, even if you weren’t doing a full length shot, we always put on the heels to get into character. You just feel different and hold your body differently when you’ve got the full gear on. I had a great time learning from Heather…listening to her lifting us up and giving us space to be sexy and confident. THANK YOU HEATHER!! ♥️ 👯‍♀️ And all with a group of a women I had never met before but hope to dance with again soon! 💃🏻✨

I love that everyone embraces all of the things we love about these movies! I had no idea when I was younger the impact these soundtracks would have on my life. A few notes can immediately take you back to your childhood or a time and place that held amazing memories…or even not so happy ones. The minute we heard the Superman theme start, we knew we would be picking that as the family movie the next night. We were sharing something from our childhood with our kids…tied in with the music we just heard live in concert. I am all about making memories and sharing experiences together as a family. It’s easy to get caught up in our barbecues and picnics, but let’s not forget the real reason for having an extra day off work...it is our time to respect and honor those men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. The holiday, which is celebrated every year on the final Monday of May, was formerly known as Decoration Day and originated after the American Civil War to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the Civil War. By the 20th century, Memorial Day had been extended to honor all Americans who have died while in the military service. On Memorial Day in 2010, my husband (who was temporarily stationed in Germany for the Air Force) and I made it a point to drive to the small country of Luxembourg to visit The Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial. It’s was very cold and raining heavily but it was the only chance we had to visit. So we bundled up and grabbed our umbrellas and paid our respects. We were the only visitors except for 2 groundskeepers. Luxembourg is also the place where General Patton is buried. It was his request that after he died, he wanted ‘to be buried with my men.’ Let’s never forget. #memorialday #rememberthefallen

I got to do some incredible things while being part of the Best Damn Sports Show on Fox Sports. When I was asked about doing a hockey piece, I was a little nervous. Likes : 329Leeann Tweeden - 313 Likes - So Kane told me one day that he’d like to get a ukulele. He already plays the piano and the violin, but I said, OK because playing music is never a bad thing! He listens to @boywithuke and I know he was inspired by that. I had to find a place to get a ukulele (and ended up buying one for myself;) and found out they do jam sessions every Saturday afternoon. We sat in two weeks ago and were taught about six chords and away we went. Kaia isn’t convinced she wants to try it yet, so she came and watched us yesterday. She did take my phone and got some video…with fingers and hands in the shot of course! 😆🥳 I love sharing this experience with Kane. I will always be there to support and encourage him. And I get to have a little fun too! (This will be like my piano playing…not very good but having fun doing it!) As my girlfriend Tracey keeps saying to me…we’re living! ♥️

That includes my father who served in Vietnam, my husband who is still serving and many other family members and dear friends that have all worn the uniform. Today the country remembers them, but I think about them every day. It’s a tiny percentage of Americans who volunteer to put on the uniform and serve. I am grateful for each and every one of you. If you gave a few years or dedicated your life to service, THANK YOU. I thought about joining at one point in my life. I didn’t, but that guilt of not serving my country led me to do all I could for them. I did 16 USO Tours, 14 of those I visited the Middle East. I spent Thanksgivings and Christmas Holidays with our troops. I visited wounded warriors in the hospitals at home and abroad. I worked with charities to raise money and awareness. And I always wanted the family members to know we appreciate them and we care. Families serve right along with their loved one and the burdens often fall on them.
