Michael Angarano Instagram - HORIZON had its premiere in LA last night and @mayaerskine and I had nice little date night. this movie is so fun to see in a theater. it’s a true Western, the kind I always dreamed of being in as a kid. thanks KC for finally bringing me out West.

@horizonamericansaga comes out 6.28.24. wear some cowboy boots and check it out.

Michael Angarano Instagram - happy father’s day, dude. from the kid on the right.
Michael Angarano Instagram - not gonna lie... this is very exciting. @chrischrissmithsmith and i wrote this together after a pilot we did didn’t get picked up. now we get to make a movie !!
Michael Angarano Instagram - here’s something nice... i recently found this note that Michael J. Fox wrote to me after I screen tested for a pilot he wrote. i have always said that because i started acting so young i didn’t really have an acting role model, but as i grew up Michael J. Fox became it for me. i’ve watched Back to the Future more times than any other movie. i was 14 years old when i auditioned and was so nervous to meet him because i knew there wasn’t any way i wouldn’t tell him how much i loved him. he actually came in the waiting room to wait with me before the audition. i ended up not getting the part and was very disappointed. but meeting him and having this letter meant more to me than any job ever could.
Michael Angarano Instagram - LET’S MAKE A MOVIE !
Michael Angarano Instagram - @mayaerskine ... here are some of my favorite pictures of you, some of which you approved, some you did not ... some of which that show how i don’t look good kissing in a photo ... some that show loving, funny, slightly more than distracted side of you ... but hopefully, some that show just a little bit, how much i love and cherish you. happy birthday ❤️

Michael Angarano Instagram - now THAT was fun. THANK YOU @tribeca and everybody who came out to support this movie last night. THANK YOU to all of our friends and family (big shoutout to the 50 Angarano’s in attendance, specifically my 94 year old Grandma Terry). watching the movie with that audience was something I will never forget. if you’re in NYC this week, check out the link in my bio to see the next screening times for the film…
Michael Angarano Instagram - really sad to hear about my old friend Christopher Plummer passing away. we had a great time together and it was an incredible honor working with him. i will always fondly remember him yelling at me during a rehearsal, “STOP MUMBLING!!!!! I CAN’T HEAR YOU!!!” RIP Chris Plum
Michael Angarano Instagram - Danny in reverse… ages 72, 38, 18. this was insane. @vincentvandykefx did the prosthetics and he did an incredible job of making me look so much my grandfather it was eerie. he also was kind enough to let me breath thru my mouth during the face cast when i was clearly panicking. #Angelyne is now on @peacocktv

Michael Angarano Instagram - as the holidays approach, i always think of the time @nicholasbraun and i traversed NYC in a polar vortex and made a sad Christmas movie. as time goes on, i grow to be more and more proud of this very tiny and special movie we made together. if you’re in the mood for a little stroll through Central Park, or some karaoke on the Lower East Side, AVENUES is on @peacocktv, @amazonprimevideo, @hulu, @tubi, @appletv, and @youtube …

Michael Angarano Instagram - so heartbreaking... Milon, aka “the one on the left,” is closing. this was actually the restaurant that inspired me to write AVENUES... AND it was also the first location i went to shoot the sizzle reel we shot for the film a year prior to production... AND the manager remembered me from both meetings and we ended up shooting there on our very first day... AND when @tothemaxxx and i finished editing, we had our wrap dinner here. RIP and thank you for the great times. i’m so grateful we were able to capture such a memorable part of NYC. #theoneontheleft

Michael Angarano Instagram - more Minx!!!! episodes 1-4 are now available… 👨🏻

Michael Angarano Instagram - according to my calculations, this mini press day we did for AVENUES happened a year ago today. @nicholasbraun & i spoke about how we’ve been in 4 movies together but this was the hardest one, and then Steven Soderbergh and I drank @singani63 from flasks as we did a q&a to a NY audience mostly comprised of Angarano’s. it was a very good day. and if you haven’t seen it yet, check out AVENUES, the film I wrote & directed on iTunes and prime.

Michael Angarano Instagram - here are some more things we’ve been watching recently... -“That Thing You Do!” this is still incredibly good and fun. really sad to hear about Adam Schlesinger. nice to know The Wonders are reuniting tonight for a Zoom watch party for the MusicCares COVID-19 Relief Fund. i just might join.
-“In A Lonely Place” i was feeing noir-ish. Nicholas Ray (Rebel Without A Cause) directed this pretty excellent movie starring Humphrey Bogart. -“Bad Timing” a Nicolas Roeg movie w Art Garfunkel and Theresa Russell. it’s definitely worth a watch. i’m obsessed with a sequence i’ll post in my story in later.
-“Daddy Longlegs” one of the Safdie Brothers’ first movies starring Ronald Brownstein. i heard about this for years but never saw it. it’s about their dad and feels very personal. not as stressful as Uncut Gems or Good Times, but close. i loved it. also, sorry the picture is very bad. -“High Hopes” a Mike Leigh movie. like a lot of his movies, this is a slice of life a time and place in the UK. all of his movies are great. -“Hables Con Ella” this was my first Almodóvar. ever. it exceeded my expectations. i love how emotional the men are in it. feels different than American movies.
-“In the Mood for Love” also my first Wong Kar-wai. this movie is sort of mind blowing. again, very so for the picture but i feel like i’m too far into typing this to go back now...
-“Dogtooth” never had seen this and @mayaerskine asked me about 10 times if i knew what was happening and made me guess. i guessed wrong twice before i figured it out.
-“Terrace House” admittedly, i was hesitant. i just couldn’t imagine dedicating so much time to it. but it’s so... beyond worth it. i love it so much.
it’s oddly relaxing. i look forward to watching all the earlier seasons.

still can’t find Short Cuts. gonna start Battlestar Galactica. any more suggestions??

still can’t find Short Cuts. gonna start Battlestar Galactica. any more suggestions??

Michael Angarano Instagram - recent watches... a lot of odd and wonderful double features. going down filmmaker wormholes -Goodfellas mixed with the first couple eps of The Sopranos. i haven’t watched Sopranos since it came out. it’s a real treat. also watched David Chase’s “Not Fade Away,” i’ve watched Goodfellas dozens of times - whenever it’s on TV i’ll stop and watch at any point - but was so fun to watch uncensored, start to finish. -The Man Who Fell to Earth. worth a watch but felt like homework. -The Party with Peter Sellers and The Anniversary Party with Alan Cummings and Jennifer Jason Leigh. watched the Anniversary Party for the first time, felt like a time capsule. rewatched The Party directly after bc of the title similarities. -Chungking Express and A Bigger Splash. continuing down my Wong Kar Wai film education path. this movie is stunning. Bigger Splash bc we wanted to be in Italy for a couple of hours.
-The Adventures of Baron Munchausen and The Draughtman’s Contract. love Baron Munchausen so much and hadn’t seen in over ten years. i remember watching it for the first time thinking how much i would love to be in a Terry Gilliam movie. Draughtman’s is a little tedious at first, but was happy to be in another world for a while.
-Yourself and Yours and Right Now, Wrong Then. Hang Sang Soo double feature. i hadn’t seen any movies his and can’t recommend more. Right Now, Wrong Then is on amazon, i think. i can’t stop thinking of his movies after i watch them.
-Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back. we watched because we watched the excellent Empire of Dreams doc about the making of the original SW trilogy. we were gonna start with Empire, bc Maya was like the first one is a little hokey. i said, if we’re gonna do it we have to do it right. we were so happy we watched the first. it’s kind of great, in a non hokey way. Empire is another movie entirely. different director, sure. but so dark.
-A Brief History of Time, Let It Be, Empire of Dreams: Making of the Star Wars Trilogy, and of course... The Last Dance. i loved all of these as i love docs. l had a very emotional reaction to The Last Dance. -All That Jazz. last but never least. thoughts/suggestions?

Michael Angarano Instagram - happy birthday Breonna Taylor. she would have been 27 years old today if she wasn’t murdered in the middle of the night by Louisville police officers for something she did not do. she was an EMT - an essential worker who worked at 2 different hospitals during Covid, and she was shot 8 times in her own bed.
since i turned 27 i’ve written and directed movie, adopted a dog, become an uncle (twice), moved into my own house, lived to see what feels like the Civil Rights movement of our generation, and fell in love. i wonder what she would have done? go to my story to sign a petition demanding justice for Breonna, swipe right for numbers to call, and text ENOUGH TO 55156. #breonnataylor #sayhername #birthdayforbreonna

Michael Angarano - 8.1K Likes - here’s something nice... i recently found this note that Michael J.

Michael Angarano - 3.9K Likes - so heartbreaking...

Michael Angarano - 3.6K Likes - according to my calculations, this mini press day we did for AVENUES happened a year ago today.

Michael Angarano - 3K Likes - here are some more things we’ve been watching recently...

Michael Angarano - 2.3K Likes - recent watches... a lot of odd and wonderful double features. going down filmmaker wormholes -Goodfellas mixed with the first couple eps of The Sopranos. i haven’t watched Sopranos since it came out. it’s a real treat. also watched David Chase’s “Not Fade Away,” i’ve watched Goodfellas dozens of times - whenever it’s on TV i’ll stop and watch at any point - but was so fun to watch uncensored, start to finish.

Right Now, Wrong Then is on amazon, i think. i can’t stop thinking of his movies after i watch them. -Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back. we watched because we watched the excellent Empire of Dreams doc about the making of the original SW trilogy. we were gonna start with Empire, bc Maya was like the first one is a little hokey. i said, if we’re gonna do it we have to do it right. we were so happy we watched the first. it’s kind of great, in a non hokey way. Empire is another movie entirely. different director, sure. but so dark. -A Brief History of Time, Let It Be, Empire of Dreams: Making of the Star Wars Trilogy, and of course… The Last Dance. i loved all of these as i love docs. l had a very emotional reaction to The Last Dance. -All That Jazz. last but never least. thoughts/suggestions?

Michael Angarano - 2.3K Likes - recent watches... a lot of odd and wonderful double features. going down filmmaker wormholes -Goodfellas mixed with the first couple eps of The Sopranos. i haven’t watched Sopranos since it came out. it’s a real treat. also watched David Chase’s “Not Fade Away,” i’ve watched Goodfellas dozens of times - whenever it’s on TV i’ll stop and watch at any point - but was so fun to watch uncensored, start to finish.

Michael Angarano - 2.2K Likes - happy birthday Breonna Taylor. she would have been 27 years old today if she wasn’t murdered in the middle of the night by Louisville police officers for something she did not do. she was an EMT - an essential worker who worked at 2 different hospitals during Covid, and she was shot 8 times in her own bed.
since i turned 27 i’ve written and directed movie, adopted a dog, become an uncle (twice), moved into my own house, lived to see what feels like the Civil Rights movement of our generation, and fell in love. i wonder what she would have done? go to my story to sign a petition demanding justice for Breonna, swipe right for numbers to call, and text ENOUGH TO 55156. #breonnataylor #sayhername #birthdayforbreonna
