Tunisha Hubbard Instagram - We’re celebrating Aunt Nan’s life after 105 years!
Aunt Nan was not only the matriarch of our family, she was the matriarch of the city. She lead with poise, grace and a gentle heart. A woman who dedicated her life to God and lead by example, taking each of her steps guided by God.
She has touched so many lives throughout years, members of our Grace church family, our Sorors of Alpha Kappa Alpha Inc. , colleagues in the Pgh Public school district and her beloved students from 5th Ave High School 💖 A few years ago she ran into one of her students, he began visiting her along with a few friends and classmates who also loved and admired Aunt Nan and before we knew it, she was hosting full on house parties every month just up until a few months ago ☺️ our family will be forever grateful to the FAHS students.

To me aunt Nan is more than just my Aunt, it may have taken me some years to realize this but she is true royalty. I’m thankful that the City of Pittsburgh recognized this and named July 23rd Nan Moone Currington Day. A day we can all continue to celebrate her for years to come.

Aunt Nan taught me grace, elegance , etiquette and poise. I can’t believe I’m even related to someone so remarkable.

As we gathered Aunt Nan’s things when she moved to the nursing home, I found letter after letter from throughout the years of people telling her how wonderful she was, how much they appreciated having her touch their lives, and how she helped them become who they are. One letter in particular is extra special from her niece, my beloved Aunt Doe Doe who passed in 2019. (Last photo)

This week has been a blessing, reuniting with family and sharing stories of all our good times and celebrating Aunt Nan.
I never knew how lucky I was to be raised by a group of strong black women and that’s all because of you Aunt Nan.
Thank you for your laugh that filled rooms like a song and thank you for your unconditional love.

Tunisha Hubbard - 197 Likes - We’re celebrating Aunt Nan’s life after 105 years!

(Last photo) This week has been a blessing, reuniting with family and sharing stories of all our good times and celebrating Aunt Nan. I never knew how lucky I was to be raised by a group of strong black women and that’s all because of you Aunt Nan. Thank you for your laugh that filled rooms like a song and thank you for your unconditional love.
