Antoinette Lattouf Instagram – No this is not a picture with my cousins at an engagement party, it’s the SOFRA Lebanese cook book launch event! This beautiful book is the brainchild of the brilliant mother daughter duo behind @sundaykitchenau.
Naturally @karimachloehazim and @sivinetabbouch cooked the most delicious food for their guests at @artgalleryofnsw. So many people came together to celebrate this book which is as much about the preservation of culture and community as it is about cooking.
SOFRA comes from an Arabic word meaning picnic, or dining table, but perhaps more important than the literal translation, Sofra suggests generosity and hospitality.
Shoutout to book industry stalwart @cherylakle from @betterreadingau for moderating such a wonderful chat with the authors.
