Reflecting on another year, another birthday come and gone, another year of lessons learned. So here are just a few things I will be taking with me into this coming year… 1. How someone else feels about you and treats you is a reflection of them more so than a reflection of you. So hold up a mirror and don’t take things others say or do personally. 2. Love doesn’t always feel like sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes or often times it will also be painful and scary to entrust someone with something so deeply precious. Allow yourself to lean in and find both the light and the shadow in it. Love will both light the way, illuminating a path to the heart and also show you all the obstacles in its way. 3. Trust in the divine. Even in the most painful of moments in life… remember life is not happening to you, it’s happening FOR you. 4. People will come and go from your life… those that are meant to stay will, and those who aren’t, won’t. You don’t want fairweather people in your life. You want the ride or die folks that can love you through it all, just as you love them. 5. Continuation of 4… nourish that which nourishes you. I believe in you. There have been numerous studies around plants. One I love and have experimented myself is one where you take 3 plants and give each the same amount of light and water, and they either say or write one of three things. One, positive words. Two, hateful words. Three, no words at all. To no surprise, the plant with positive words flourished and grew. The one with hateful words began to wilt. Though the most surprising… the one with no words at all began to completely die. Lesson being… words have power, even the lack there of. What do you choose to do with them? 🤍

Sometimes I sing as a form of prayer. Today I pray for a change. I pray for a better world. I pray for people to see the humanity in one another. Pray for people to reconnect to their hearts once more. I pray a change is gonna come 🤍
I sung this for a room full of people in Israel back in January to represent 3 month since October 7th and 3 months of the hostages being held in captivity. I sung it with Hersh in mind and all of my other Israeli / Jewish mishpahcha (family). Now as we pass 330 days and with the devastation of the 6 beautiful souls who were murdered. Alexander, Almog, Carmel, Eden, Hersh, & Ori… I continue to sing and pray for the remaining innocent 101 souls, for the safety of all innocent people, and for the war and pain to end. So… somewhere out there beneath the pale moonlight, I’ll be praying for you, thinking of you and loving you tonight 🤍🙏🏽 שה’ יברך אותך וישמור עליך Thank you my sweet and beautiful friend @bengleib for the song choice and my dear and wonderful friend @ido.montaniez for beautifully accompanying me on the piano 🫶🏽

On a day where I get to celebrate on of my oldest (not chronologically, but by how long I’ve known her 😉 this is what came through. There are friends I will love and will remain for ALL the seasons. You are one of them @christinapascucci 🤍 Happy birthday!
So, I will pray that you may be reminded… How have we forgotten how to love one another? How have people become so blind to their own ego that they cannot see beyond the confines of their own flesh suit. All birthed from the same earth, the same human race, the same humanity, yet we fight one another to the death as if we are living in the barbarity of how we as barbarians once began. Survival of the fittest, they said. An eye for an eye, they said… but can you not see that that makes the whole world blind. Can you not see that that the lack of care for one is the lack of care for all. All born in the image and likeness of our creator, they said, yet treat each other as anything but. I weep for the hearts of humanity, those who have lost the very heartbeat that makes them alive. Those who can no longer look into the eyes of an innocent child and see the purity of innocence. I weep for the ones who themselves have lost their innocence. I pray that you too find your heartbeat once more so that you may see the truth beyond the confines of the hateful lies, to once again see the beauty in another’s eyes. 🤍
