When I read the treatments for the SUPERNOVA video I cried. It was a “pinch me” moment to feel so supported for my concepts that haven’t always had a place in the mainstream. Griffin Stoddard’s ( @wetdisgrace ) was on another level. He saw my identity in the story and gave me the most beautiful places in which to express it. He directed my co actor @artbybrix3 by saying, “they want to be cool enough for you…” which is true. But he also made me feel the coolest I’ve ever felt for putting my heart out there. That’s what this song is about. I wanted it to feel like any kid in any small town can dream to be the prince in their own story. Grateful to have collaborated with him and his team, for the sweetest boys that let me throw them to the ground, the beauty/styling queens and everyone on this incredible krew who brought so many of my dreams to life in a day.
