Katori Hall Instagram – THROWBACK ALERT – The 75th @thetonyawards will return back to its usual summer time venue @radiocitymusichall tonight.
Last year’s awards ceremony occurred during a worldwide pandemic that plunged Broadway into an unprecedented intermission of 18 months.
The 74th TONYs was historical for a lot of reasons but mostly because finally we could all be in the same room and breathe the same air again (masked of course).
My musical @tinabroadway got 12 noms with one of the best performers in the world @adriennelwarren taking home our singular nod. Her win was all of ours. And though our show will sadly be closing soon due to a box office crippled by the still raging pandemic, I am overjoyed by the success of my friends nominated this weekend. From @lynnnottage to my sis @domorisseau, I just had to be in that room as Broadway tries to come back better.
