My heart | मेरा दिल These are not just photos. These are moments 💜 I once again had the honour of travelling across India to visit the grassroots organizations that @unicornisland provides grants to. This is important to me for so many reasons. First, meeting these girls is often the highlight of my year. They teach me so much, make me laugh and make me cry. And this trip, I’m really happy that I proactively arranged for quality time with them, with and without a camera. After the content was done, I sent my crew away and genuinely got to connect with them. And it was so special. Second, I think it’s immensely important to show you our work. After all, you donate money to the fund and you are part of the journey. I want you to see the impact of your support. I want you to see how your contributions can help enable a young girl to go to school, get opportunity, feel safe, etc. Not to mention, the kids get so excited to get their picture taken 🥹 Third, I live an extremely privileged life. And if you stay in the bubble of privilege, seldom ever leaving it, your privilege starts to become invisible to you. This trip is a privilege cleanse for me; a thrust outside of my comfort zone in every capacity. And a humble reminder that the responsible and compassionate thing to do, is to use my privilege to the best of my ability, to help those who may have less. Worth the monsoon floods. Worth my fear of lizards. Worth the 70 hours of travelling throughout. Just… worth it 💜 To learn more about our work follow @unicornisland. @swataleem_ngo @pardadapardadi @inbreakthrough @aartiforgirls
