Earlier this week, we called our friend and told her that we think she’d make a fantastic President of the United States. We’re proud to endorse Vice President @kamalaharris to be our Democratic nominee. Let’s go make history again.
We’re fired up and ready to go! Let’s do all we can to elect @KamalaHarris and @TimWalz. Join us: KamalaHarris.com
Joe Biden has been one of America’s most consequential presidents, as well as a dear friend and partner to me. Today, we’ve also been reminded – again – that he’s a patriot of the highest order.

@KamalaHarris is ready for this moment. By every measure, she will be one of the most qualified people ever to seek the presidency. And by every measure, she will be one of the most dignified. Her story is your story. It’s my story. It’s the story of the vast majority of Americans trying to build a better life. She knows, like we do, that regardless of where you come from, what you look like, who you love, how you worship, or what’s in your bank account, we all deserve the opportunity to build a decent life. All of our contributions deserve to be accepted and valued. Because no one has a monopoly on what it means to be an American! Let’s usher in a new era of decency and light as we elect the next President and Vice President of the United States–@KamalaHarris and @TimWalz!
I was touched to see Gus Walz’s joy when his dad @TimWalz took the stage last night. Thankful for you showing us all what real love looks like, Gus. Let’s be a nation that embraces this kind of warmth and vulnerability, instead of making fun or mocking it. We could all use some of Gus’s example in our own lives.
Today would have been my mom’s 87th birthday. These past couple of months have been tough without her, and I am so grateful for the outpouring of love you’ve shown our family along the way. Even though she’s no longer with us, I still think she’s worth celebrating. What I loved most about my mom might have been this: She always felt like she was enough. The tiny two bedroom walk-up apartment we used to live in; the faux chimney she would fashion for us out of cardboard during the holidays; the at-home hair-dos she would give herself using the oven and a hot comb — she was always happy with what she had. And because she felt like she was enough, she could help others feel that too. She did that countless times for me and my brother Craig. She did it for her family and friends. She did it for the staff at the White House. She did it for everyone she knew. So today, on her birthday, I am celebrating the immense power there was in her enoughness. And I am committing myself to carrying forward her legacy of lifting up others the best I can. Love you, mom. And happy birthday.
Happy birthday to the love of my life, @BarackObama! Here’s to weathering all of life’s storms and moving mountains together. ❤️

Like Vice President Harris, Governor @TimWalz believes that government works to serve us. Not just some of us, but all of us. That’s what makes him an outstanding governor, and that’s what will make him an even better vice president. Michelle and I couldn’t be happier for Tim and Gwen, their family, and our country.
It’s up to us to remember what Kamala’s mother told her: Don’t just sit around and complain — do something! We only have two and a half months left until Election Day. So, let’s get to work!
What an inspiring and historic night — a true representation of what it means to be an American. @KamalaHarris delivered an impassioned and powerful speech tonight that showed the country and the world that she is ready to lead us forward. She did her part with grace, strength, and determination. And now, it’s up to us, regardless of how we identify politically, to do the same. Each of us must do what we know in our hearts is right. We must vote like our lives depend on it. We must rally our neighbors and communities. And we must start now. Don’t wait. We can’t let this momentum die down. Because there is only one choice for us in this election — and that is the next President of the United States, Kamala Harris!
We are just 100 days away from Election Day, and it’s time to get registered and ready to vote. When we all vote, we have the power to determine the direction of our country. Every issue we care about is on the ballot — from reproductive rights to what our kids are learning in school to how our communities are policed. Our democracy works best when all of us play a role in shaping it. So, tell me — are you voting this year? Head over to @whenweallvote to register to vote today. And don’t forget to remind your friends and family to register, too. Let’s get out there and do this!
It’s true — HOPE is making a comeback! Now is the time to work like our lives depend on it. Make sure you’re registered to vote, volunteer in your community, organize — do something — to help elect @KamalaHarris and @TimWalz as our next president and vice president. KamalaHarris.com
From the economy to reproductive rights to protecting our climate, the issues we care about most are on the ballot in this election. But you can’t make your voice heard in this election if you don’t register to vote first. Whether you recently moved to a new city, turned 18, got married and changed your name — or maybe it’s just been a while since you last updated it — it’s time to check your voter registration with @WhenWeAllVote. Head to WhenWeAllVote.org to make sure your voter registration status is up to date before your state’s deadline. Your voice and your vote matter — make sure you use them this November!
It comes as no surprise that my friend @MelindaFrenchGates is marking her 60th birthday by lifting up other women. That’s just who she is. I had such a great time sitting down with her to talk about the joys, triumphs, and struggles we’ve faced over the years — and the lessons we’ve learned along the way. I hope you’ll check out our conversation on YouTube at the link in my bio.
I recently had the chance to reconnect with some of the girls I met through @AGEAfrica in Malawi, a program that is working to make sure girls can access and finish school. These girls just graduated from secondary school and are filled with so much passion, resilience, and hope for the future. And with dreams like pursuing law, becoming surgeons, and studying human rights – they are ready to take the world by storm. I couldn’t be prouder of them! Too many girls in their communities don’t have the opportunity to finish school, so these young women are determined to pay it forward by supporting other girls and showing them the difference that getting an education can make. If you’re interested in supporting programs that help girls like them break barriers, I hope you’ll take some time to learn about the @GirlsOpportunityAlliance and the organizations we support by visiting the link in my bio.
Congratulations to our newest cohort of Obama-Chesky Voyagers! I’m so excited for the journey they’re about to embark on with the @ObamaFoundation. The young people in our latest class of Voyagers come from every corner of the country and each hold a deep sense of curiosity about the world. I am so excited to see how they’ll work together in the years ahead and I’ll be cheering them on every step of the way!

As athletes around the world come together to compete in the Olympic games in Paris, I find myself inspired by their talent, endurance, and sportsmanship. Here at home, I’m encouraged by organizations like @GirlsintheGame who are working to harness that power to lift up our girls. Girls in the Game helps adolescent girls get involved in sports programming to develop their health, leadership, and life skills. Girls gain exposure to multiple sports and activities—from basketball to yoga to soccer—while also taking part in workshops on teamwork, conflict resolution, and more. With recent support from our @GirlsOpportunityAlliance, Girls in the Game has expanded their programming to three new schools on the South Side of Chicago. I’m inspired by the work they are doing, and I hope you’ll take the time to learn more about organizations like theirs that are helping girls thrive across Chicago. Across the country, poll workers help their communities vote, keep polling places open, and make sure every voter has access to the ballot box. This November, we’ll be relying on them to make sure our elections run smoothly and efficiently. Today, on #PollWorkerRecruitmentDay, I hope you’ll consider signing up to be a poll worker at the link in my bio.
