It’s officially been a month of being asked“how does it feel to be married” and guys, it feels amazing! Mostly because nothing has changed between us and we’re both back at work. My only revelation is that it does feel different to be married vs being in a long-term relationship. I knew I wanted to get married and be in a traditional union, so being able to ask for what I want and having my dream come true was just wild! Signing documents, opening bank accounts, sharing financial expenses (even disclosing/curbing my spending habit) hits different when you’re a legal entity. Some people will convince you that it’s just a paper and it doesn’t mean much, but only you can determine what having a partner -married or not married- will mean to you. Don’t let anyone make you feel small about it. When you find someone who is aligned with the similar values and importance placed on similar needs, it will feel right and it will make sense. It was the courage to speak it out that was the hardest for me, but it got me here. I saw how my family came together and took on different roles leading up to the wedding and even more blessed that they flew over multiple countries and flights to be a part of this big day. Plus, my brothers giving speeches, my sister overcoming her fear of attention and my mom looking so stunning at all of the events made me feel so loved, not to mention pops singing in the evening- yes he sang. They are all core memories anchored in my heart forever. (Still waiting for the rest of the pics to come but I wanted to share these for now!) PS. A little shoutout to @paxfloralstudio for being meticulous and being such great executors of my visual references. Especially my beautiful bouquet that I couldn’t stop admiring- it was the white peonies for me. 📷: @jonlowstudios
It ain’t a Chinese wedding without some 🍵. I was already emotionally spent from my exchange of vows that I didn’t realise I’d be tearing up during the tea ceremony. My village of a family has helped raise me since my return to Malaysia and serving tea was the least I could do for all they have done for me. It felt like such an honour to have them celebrate with me. My sister has been in the trenches with me and I just lost it when she said she’d always be there for me. 🥹 My new family has welcomed me with open arms and they’ve already seen me cry like a goon, so it looks like we’re a lot closer now. 🙆🏻♀️ On a lighter and more sustainable note, I got to use my @khoonhooi_gold dress for a classic look and also borrowed some special wedding themed items from @itsjessicashen, which I’ve gladly “pay-it-forward” to the next bride-to-be. I bought my wedding coordinator’s unused teacup husks for the 80 cups of tea we needed to serve to our extended family. Plus, I asked our wedding decorators to reuse some of these items for our dinner reception to also minimise wastage. 💄: @shengsaw 💆🏻♀️: @mmavissang 👗: @khoonhooi_official 📷: @jonlowstudios 📹: @filmsbykoh 🎋: @paxfloralstudio #theTingTengs

They all believed in me and never gave up.🥹 Each represent different parts of who I am- Malaysia, Canada, Work and Family. The years of friendship, support and love carried me through some of the toughest lessons I had to learn. Even with their hard-to-listen-to honesty, they always spoke their truth, because it came from love. I was grateful to have them show up for me in one of the most important milestones of my life. The past couple of @justin_yap_atelier collections, I’ve had to watch it backstage on a tiny tv screen but this time I was able to get a front row seat of his hard work and effort pushing out 30 amazing looks for men and women. We were all dressed in pieces from his previous collections and I’m lucky to wear a blazer look to showcase his tailoring for women! Congrats @justin___yap! Super proud of your journey and the best is yet to come!!! #malaysiandesigner #mbklfw #justinyap

Always a joy to work with the @lotuscars.malaysia team, this time to launch the #LotusEmeya and the beautiful showroom at Glenmarie. I had a little sneak peak in the Hyper GT and it was so impressive to say the least! #emcee #lotuscars #lotuscarsmalaysia

Throwback to many moons ago when I reached out to @imsarahlian to curate a session for my village. Adulting is challenging and motherhood is even more difficult. The weight of self-doubt and self-sabotage is real. In this safe and supportive space, we came together, shared our deepest fears and shed many tears. By the end of the session, we emerged empowered, with a renewed sense of peace and connection within ourselves. To my amazing friends who lift each other up and support one another, I’m beyond grateful. If you’re seeking a deeper connection with yourself and a chance to find that inner peace, I highly recommend checking out @supparetreat ! Thank you once again for creating this safe space for us @imsarahlian🫶🏼 “Loving yourself isn’t vanity, it’s sanity” – Katrina Mayer #selflove #empowerment
