We took her to the ER and miraculaously looks like she’s gonna get out of it with just a solid bruise to her forehead. So what am I thankful for in 2023? A lot. Caption : Teaser trailer for “Journey to Bethlehem”!! ***** It’s been almost ten years since @i_am_adamanders first told me about his idea for a fun, family original musical movie about the Christmas story. I loved it immediately and for the next 7 years, was constantly checking in with him (he may justifiably say annoying him) about what was going on with it. Then 4 years ago, after agreeing to make #aweekaway together, @swbarnett, @vickyp487 and I started Monarch Media. One of very first calls I made was to Adam to see where things were with this movie. He was kind enough to allow us to hop on this project and open enough to allow us to work with him on developing it and getting it ready for production. We just finished shooting in Spain in March and it hits theaters in November with @affirmfilms distributing! I’ll spare you any more boring details for now but just know that this movie has been on quite the journey to get to this moment of being able to share the first look! Caption : With the love and support of so many wonderful humans, yesterday I stepped into a role I’ve never played before.. I had the privilege of directing for the first time. It was one of those feels like everything has lead to this moments. My time with my boys in @anthemlightsband gave me the opportunity to focus on making music. The films and tv shows I’ve been able to work on as an actor continues to teach me what it means to tell the story in front of the camera. And the projects I’ve been able to produce alongside my partners at Monarch have allowed me to learn storytelling from behind the camera. Putting all of those things together for the first time to try and guide a group of unbelievably talented artists creatively feels like home, I’m not gonna lie. Caption : With the theatrical release of Journey to Bethlehem literally just days away on Nov 10, as you can imagine, I’m going to be posting and sharing a lot about the film this week.. But I wanted to start with this picture. Me and my wife, @bryciemarie at the premier in Los Angeles on Friday night. She is the one that ultimately supported me in being able to make this movie. For me, making @jtbmovie meant moving to Spain for 2 1/2 months to be there while prepping and filming. I came back once in the middle for 24 hours because I promised my kids I would but the 20 hour one way travel time made coming home on the weekends impossible. And as some of you may know, we have six kids. So what me being gone for 2 1/2 months means for her is that she has got six kids by herself, 24 hours a day.. for 105 days. I struggle when I have them for four hours on a Saturday.. and she did 105 days like a champ.. didn’t complain once. Was an amazing partner and encourager to me, was an amazing mother to our kids and if you ask me, one of the main reasons this film exists and certainly what allowed me to be there. I love you, baby.
