Billy Corben Instagram - With the election just one week away, I was concerned that the race for Miami-Dade Democratic Party Chair remained uncontested.

State Senator Shevrin Jones is a good man and a more than capable candidate, but competition is good for the consumer. It is, in fact, essential for democracy: no options, no election. Voters need a robust marketplace of ideas. We deserve an opportunity to hear our candidates propose their plans and lay out of a vision for the future.

@MiamiDadeDems are a shambles. We’ve been hijacked by a consultant cartel that does not care about getting Democrats elected; they only care about lining their pockets. And they’ve run the Party right into the ground — for profit. They exploit our bank accounts to pass-through unlimited contributions to their candidates and abuse our hard-working volunteers for the sole benefit of their monopoly. They have perverted the very essence of what it means to be a Democrat.

We are trying to save our Party; they are trying to preserve their business model.

Until we acknowledge, confront, and remedy the reality of the unethical grifters in our midst, we will continue to lose elections.

And we must stop gaslighting ourselves about our prospects in this cycle. It further harms the credibility of an already debilitated brand and hampers any hope we have to move forward, fundraise, recruit candidates, run competent campaigns, and set a longterm course for success.

My chances of winning would be greater with anonymous ballots. I understand it’ll be difficult for many people to vote for me, even if they want to, due to the pressure and intimidation tactics you’ll be subjected to by the consultant cartel that demands the status quo because their livelihood depends on it. (Also #BecauseMiami.)

But this important process should not be a coronation; it should at least be a conversation. I often say Democrats in Florida never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. Let’s not miss this opportunity.

I have some ideas; I know @ShevrinJones does. Let’s talk about them. @nikkifriedfl
Billy Corben Instagram - #BREAKING: Accused sex pest and Miami Beach mayor Steven Meiner resigns from his job at U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission during HR probe into sexual harassment claims by three women #BecauseMiami

According to the Miami Herald, earlier this month, “Meiner resigned from his role as an enforcement attorney in the SEC’s Miami office, where he had worked since 2007...conducting investigations into securities fraud.”

Last November, days before he was elected mayor, the Herald broke the news that three former female colleagues claimed he’d made unwanted advances.

Then in February, “the Herald reported that the SEC’s Office of Human Resources in Washington, D.C., had begun contacting current and former SEC employees” about the allegations.

A former SEC intern said “Meiner had once tried to kiss her in 2012.” An SEC attorney “reported to her superiors in 2016 that Meiner told her...that he wanted to get a second apartment to carry on an affair with her.”

“A second former intern told the Herald that during and after her internship, Meiner frequently asked her out for drinks and dinner and told her in text messages that she was ‘beautiful and smart.’ She said that she sent Meiner ‘several very direct texts reminding him he had a wife and kids and reminding him I was in a very serious relationship’ and that her then-boyfriend became so frustrated with Meiner’s advances that he texted Meiner himself to tell him to stop.”

Meiner announced he has a new job as “senior management executive” at The Farkas Group Inc., the “family office” of businessman Michael D. Farkas that “manages a diverse investment portfolio.”

And because Miami is an incestuous cesspool of corruption: Farkas is also the founder and former CEO of Blink Charging, an electric vehicle charging company. Last October, four months after the Herald says he left the company — LO AND BEHOLD — The firm announced a deal to become the “official EV charging provider” for the City of Miami Beach!

Billy Corben Instagram - CONGRATULATIONS CHIEF @ARTACEVEDO!

#BREAKING: Federal judge says former Miami Police Chief Art Acevedo’s lawsuit against the City of Miami, Commissioners Joe Carollo and Manolo Reyes, disgraced ex-commissioner Alex Diaz de la Portilla (already arrested for briery and money laundering), and city manger Art Noriega CAN MOVE FORWARD! #BecauseMiami

Today, U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams DENIED the defendants’ motion to dismiss the case, finding that Carollo, Reyes, Diaz de la Portilla, and Noriega “are not entitled to qualified or legislative immunity.” So Miami taxpayers will continue to pay the corruption tax to cover MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in attorneys fees in defense of this f*ckery.

Acevedo was fired in 2021 — less than seven months after he was hired — after he called out the three corrupt commissioners for alleged illegal and unethical activity, claiming they tried to “weaponize” the police department and other city agencies against their enemies.

The Miami Herald reports: In his civil complaint, first filed in January 2022, Acevedo accused them of violating his First Amendment rights and illegally retaliating against him for “speaking out against corruption and abuse of power by the City of Miami Commission.” He has alleged that his firing was retribution for trying to maintain his independence as police chief. @iamchristineking

Billy Corben Instagram - #BREAKING (UPDATED): Sergio Pino, “one of the largest Hispanic Homebuilders in the nation,” dead of “apparent suicide” during FBI and SWAT raid today at his Cocoplum Miami mansion during investigation into his allegedly poisoning — and hiring men to threaten — his estranged wife

Pino, in the middle of a contentious divorce with wife Tatiana Pino, had been accused of hiring four men, who have been arrested, to “assault” and “threaten” her and her sister. Late last month, the FBI raided Pino’s Coral Gables home and office.

According to the Miami Herald, “a rented Home Depot trailer rammed into Tatiana Pino’s car as she pulled into her driveway after a day of divorce proceedings in August 2023. Three vehicles have been set ablaze in two separate arsons at Tatiana Pino’s sister’s residence.”

Tatiana Pino testified in court that her husband allegedly poisoned the Brussels sprouts she brought to a 2019 Miami “women’s Bible study” Friendsgiving, “an annual backyard dinner held by Lisa Lorenzo, a close Pino friend and host of a Christian podcast.” The Herald reported, “Guests were so sick that a squad of ambulances rushed more than a dozen women, including Pino, to the hospital.” The wife U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio fell ill as well.

In a motion filed on July 5, Tatiana Pino’s divorce attorney said there had been another “attempt on Ms. Pino’s life just weeks ago at her home.”

WPLG is reporting that Pino, 67, the founder of Century Homebuilders Group, described on its website as “one of the largest Hispanic Homebuilders in the nation,” died of “apparent suicide.”

What appeared to be a standoff began today at about 9:30 this morning with “a series of loud bangs” that could be heard from about a block away. “Two helicopters hovered overhead at the waterfront estate, near the Cocoplum Yacht Club. Around 10 a.m., Coral Gables Fire Rescue arrived with lights on. Thirty minutes later, an ambulance left with lights on but no siren. Around 11:30 a.m., a van from the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s office arrived in the area.”
Billy Corben Instagram - ¡Pobrecito, Pollo Carollo!

The latest financial disclosure form filed by corrupt wife-beating Miami commissioner Joe Carollo “reflects a more than $66 million decrease from the $2.3 million net worth he reported last year,” according to the Miami Herald.

“The disclosure paints a grim financial picture for the commissioner as he fights to protect his Coconut Grove home” (which he valued at $2.5 million and owes $265,000 on his mortgage) from seizure to satisfy part of the $63.5 million judgment plus $2.7 million in attorneys’ fees and costs he owes after a civil jury found he violated the constitutional rights of Little Havana businessmen Bill Fuller and Martin Pinilla for political retaliation. The city’s insurance company is suing in federal court claiming it is not responsible for millions in Carollo’s legal fees.

“The city has been covering Carollo’s legal fees in the Fuller and Pinilla lawsuits, as well as the ongoing federal civil lawsuit filed by former Miami Police Chief Art Acevedo, who accused Carollo, the city manager and two other commissioners in 2022 of violating his First Amendment rights and illegally retaliating against him for ‘speaking out against corruption and abuse of power by the City of Miami Commission.’”

Interestingly, Carollo does not list as a liability the reported $15 million he owes city taxpayers for paying his attorneys’ fees in a case where he was sued (and lost) in his individual capacity — or the multi-million dollar tax obligation he’d likely have in the event those payments are reported as “gifts.”

Besides his checking account (which has less than $2,500) and his home, Carollo’s other major asset is his taxpayer-financed retirement plan, which is currently worth about $46,430.
Billy Corben Instagram - #BREAKING: Miami Mayor Ponzi Postalita Francis Suarez’s net worth exploded to $4.45 million last year — from NEGATIVE $100,000 when he was first elected — by exploiting his public office for private profit #BecauseMiami

When con man, imaginary coin salesman and real estate huckster Suarez first took public office as city commissioner in 2009, he reported a net worth of NEGATIVE $100,000. It’s now $4.45 million. Since elected mayor in 2017, his net worth has INCREASED OVER 1,800% — DOUBLING each year in 2021 and 2022.

In his first term as mayor, Suarez increased his personal net worth QUINTUPLED, from $245,015 to $1,338,551 between mid-2017 and the end of 2021.

On top of his $130,000 city compensation (package plus $1 million in security theater that takes police officers off the street to attend parties and fundraisers), the part time mayor has over 15 outside jobs, mostly in the real estate and tech sectors, riddled with conflicts of interest.

They include a secret side hustle getting $10,000-a-month for “unknown services” from a Coconut Grove real estate developer accused of fraud — that is reportedly the subject of a bribery investigation by the FBI, IRS and SEC.
Billy Corben Instagram - Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and her corrupt and incompetent Chief Operating Officer Jimmy Morales hired a fraudster and money launderer who spent nearly 12 years in prison for embezzling taxpayer money from public contracts to oversee county contracts — and promoted him! #BecauseMiami

According to Miami New Times, Christopher Kovanes was arrested in November 2005 for embezzling almost $500,000 while working as a town administrator in the Broward town of Davie by “awarding town contracts to phony companies he set up and pocketing the money.”

He pleaded guilty to felony fraud and money laundering and was sentenced to 12 years in prison, then probation until 2029.

Three years after his release, in March 2022, he was hired as a part-time PortMiami passenger safety officer. Six months later, he was promoted to the Miami-Dade Department of Transportation & Public Works as an administrative officer, tasked with overseeing department contracts and preparing bid proposals!

A scathing Miami-Dade County Office of the Inspector General report says the county failed to do a criminal background check, vet his resume, which was filled with “sham references” and lies (including phony work experience that would’ve occurred DURING THE TIME OF HIS INCARCERATION), or even bother to Google him.

They also failed to “properly evaluate his criminal history prior to his promotion — a blunder that allowed him to advance to a role where he had access to sensitive financial information, which the OIG notes is “a direct correlation to his criminal history.’”

After the OIG investigation, he was terminated for lying on his original application, but they concluded “that Miami-Dade County had ‘no formal policy or procedure’ requiring departments to review employees’ criminal history when they change job positions or transfer departments.”
Billy Corben Instagram - According to Florida Bulldog, a few months after Tony promoted Reyes to colonel in 2019, Reyes greenlit the “purchase of ‘Stop the Bleed’ stations and bleeding control kits from North American Rescue, a company where Tony previously worked and later peddled its products out of his own company.”

North American got a $392,386 contract that mysteriously became $500,000 and then Reyes got a memo requesting his approval “in the amount of $750,000. Reyes approved the deal the next day, apparently no questions asked about how a $392,386 purchase had swelled so much.”

In June 2022, Miami FBI chief and Tony pal George Piro was forced to retire after a complaint alleged he helped cover up the bid rigging scandal by improperly transferring the criminal investigation out of state to South Carolina. “The case returned to Miami — but word later got out that the investigation had ended again, for reasons unknown.”

Reyes is the unqualified Miami-Dade sheriff’s candidate endorsed by Mayor Levine Cava, who desperately promoted him to county public safety chief in order to beef up his law enforcement credentials after her endorsed candidate, former Miami-Dade Police Director Freddy Ramirez shot his own eye out while attempting to commit suicide during an argument with his wife last year.

Tony donated $50,000 from his political committee to Reyes’ political committee, “the largest received by Reyes tied with another $50,000 from Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine-Cava’s PAC.”

Tony’s wealthy donors, including convicted felon and Broward Sheriff’s Advisory Council member Lewis Stahl have “kicked in an additional $69,000. Plus contributions of more than $11,000 from BSO brass have pushed the total from Tony’s associates to more than $129,000 – over 25% of the Reyes PAC’s entire reported haul to date of $504,000.”

Tony “awaits a final determination from Florida’s Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission on whether to revoke his license to be a cop for lying and yet another hearing before an administrative judge in Tallahassee.”

Billy Corben Instagram - While Miami Beach was hit by a 1-in-200 year flood, Mayor Steven Meiner and interim city manager Rickelle Williams were missing in action. It turns out, Williams has been on a taxpayer subsidized junket (read: vacation) to Art Basel in Switzerland with Commissioner Kristen Rosen Gonzalez, Meiner’s chief of staff Veronica Paysee, and economic development director Heather Shaw.

Nero fiddled while Rome burned — Rickelle Williams partied while Miami Beach drowned.

Residents whose houses and cars were underwater have complained of the city government’s sloppy emergency response and little to no communication via text, email or social media:

City officials ignored the forecast, began distributing sandbags the day AFTER the flood!

Mayor Meiner — the subject of a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission HR investigation into sexual harassment allegations by three women in the SEC’s Miami office where he works — has been radio silent until an email on Friday night, days after the storm hit.

It took @MiamiBeachPD FIVE HOURS to respond and redirect traffic on Alton Road where dozens of cars were stuck, people were fishing for tarpon in the street, and walking their dogs on kayaks!

Despite piles of debris, there are no bulk trash pickups available until late next week!

One resident told me: “During a historic flash flood emergency, emergency response has been ad hoc at best. Everyone in the government seems to be on vacation while we’re here suffering. Leadership has abandoned us.” @davidsuarezmb

Billy Corben Instagram - #BREAKING: Miami Mafia FAILS to get all counts dismissed in new federal lawsuit that could bankrupt the city — filed by Little Havana businessmen and Ball & Chain owners who already won $63.5 million corruption judgment against Commissioner Joe Carollo last year. #BecauseMiami

U.S. Judge Federico Moreno has ordered at least 9 counts to move forward — including the Civil Conspiracy Claim Against Defendant City of Miami (aka “The Vile Little Plan”) that alleges the city government behaved like a criminal racketeering organization, weaponizing city agencies to violate constitutional rights of free speech and private property for political revenge.

Moreno says plaintiffs “satisfy the pleading requirement” to move ahead with their claim that government officials — including Carollo, city manager Art Noriega, disgraced fired city attorney “Tricky” Vicky Mendez, assistant city attorney Rachel Dooley, then building director “Ace” Marrero (promoted this year to assistant city manager of infrastructure), chief of unsafe structures Rene Diaz, fire marshal Adrian Plasencia, zoning director Daniel Goldberg, and Carollo’s chief of staff William Ortiz — “agreed to participate in the Civil Conspiracy” against the beloved Calle Ocho property owners and destroy their businesses in retaliation for their support of Carollo’s opponent in the 2017 commission election.

This is the case in which Miami taxpayers are paying 23 (!!!) outside attorneys to defend the city and 11 individual officials. Gotta pay the corruption tax!

Judge Moreno has yet to file orders on the additional 127 counts in the complaint. @iamchristineking

Billy Corben Instagram - Evergreen Headline: “Drug money laundering fuels Miami real estate buying spree…and nobody was charged with a crime” #BecauseMiami

Miami-based real estate investment firm Sefira Capital was accused by federal prosecutors in a January 2021 civil forfeiture complaint of accepting millions of dollars in drug trafficking proceeds to fund investments in Florida commercial real estate between 2016 and 2019.

“In the civil forfeiture complaint, prosecutors alleged that money invested by Sefira had been laundered through the Black Market Peso Exchange, a shadow financial system used by drug traffickers in Mexico and other countries to convert tainted U.S. dollars obtained from drug sales into clean currency in their native countries. In an undercover operation, agents for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency were directed by money laundering brokers from the black market exchange to deposit millions of dollars in various accounts related to different Sefira properties in 2018 and 2019.”

Three days after filing the complaint, prosecutors reached a settlement with Sefira. The company agreed to forfeit $22.5 million and pay $6.5 million in lieu of giving up several properties. Prosecutors didn’t bring any criminal charges against Sefira or its co-founders. Billy Corben Instagram - Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is campaigning against two state constitutional amendments on November’s ballot — but both are more popular than he is. #BecauseFlorida

According to Fox News, both legalized cannabis and reproductive rights are polling higher than DeSantis.

FloridaPolitics.com says,”While DeSantis is above water, with 52% approval against 47% disapproval among the 1,075 registered voters surveyed earlier this month, what’s notable is that he’s 35 points underwater with independent voters (31% approval; 66% disapproval).”

The same Fox News poll indicates Amendment 3, the Adult Personal Use of Marijuana citizen initiative, “that would allow people to hold three ounces of flower or 5 grams of concentrate” has 66% approval against 32% disapproval.” Among Republicans, it has 57% approval and 41% disapproval, and polls over 70% with independents and Democrats.

Amendment 4, to Limit Government Interference with Abortion, “which would stop the state from being able to restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health,” is at 69% support — with 50% of Republicans in support and 45% against.

Both Amendments require at least 60% voter approval to pass.

Billy Corben Instagram - #BREAKING: Police were called after Miami-Dade’s second greasiest mayor, Coral Gables’ real estate huckster and corrupt bully Vince Lago reportedly got into a confrontation with City Manager Amos Rojas at city hall on Tuesday.

Via Political Cortadito: “According to several sources, @mayorvincelago and Rojas were at a meeting at City Hall when there was an exchange of words, and the mayor suddenly pulled off his jacket, threw it on the floor, rolled up his sleeves and, apparently, got into a fighting stance. Rojas felt threatened enough to call police.”

Rojas, who previously served as the U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Florida, was appointed @cityofcoralgables manager by a 3-2 vote in February by Lago’s political enemies on the commission who removed the previous manager.

Lago’s attorney is Ben Kuehne — who has billed Miami taxpayers and the city’s insurance company millions of dollars for his failed defense of corrupt commissioner Joe Carollo and is also representing disgraced ex Miami Commissioner Alex Díaz de la Portilla arrested for bribery and money laundering — says “The report is completely and maliciously false. Mayor Lago categorically refutes any allegation regarding an altercation at City Hall.”

@coralgablespd Chief Ed Hudak: “The Coral Gables Internal Affairs Section was directed to preliminarily document the incident. As is our protocol, our Internal Affairs Section will work as the point of contact in collaboration with outside agencies who will conduct any further investigations. This is an open and active investigation by the Department’s Internal Affairs Section. No further comments will be made until the conclusion of the investigation by this office, or other investigative agencies, at this time.”

Billy Corben Instagram - #BREAKING: Disgraced ex-Miami commissioner Alex Díaz de la Portilla under investigation for alleged witness tampering in the bribery case and money laundering case against him that led to his removal from office by the Florida Governor #BecauseMiami

Díaz de la Portilla’s former chief of staff, Karla Fortuny, has accused him of sending “unsolicited and unwanted text communications” that are “intimidating and obviously meant to tamper with my presentation of complete and truthful testimony regarding my time as an employee of the City of Miami,” according to a prosecutors’ motion.

“This conduct is extremely intimidating,” Fortuny wrote in a petition. “The respondent knows that I am listed as a prosecution witness in [the case] in which he is a named defendant. He also knows that I am represented by counsel. Regardless, he stalks me via texts and now has used a ‘burner phone’ to text my supervisor at my current job.”

According to the Miami Herald, “on May 20, Fortuny’s current boss received a text message from an unknown number, alleging that Fortuny received thousands of dollars from another witness in the case. ‘… More to come in depositions,’ the text said, according to a screenshot included in the filing.

Ben Kuehne — who has billed Miami taxpayers and the city’s insurance company millions of dollars for his failed defense of corrupt commissioner Joe Carollo — is also representing Díaz de la Portilla. He calls the allegations “unfounded” and part of “The State’s ongoing effort to weaponize the criminal justice system against the Defendant in defiance of the facts and law.”

In a text message to the Herald today, Díaz de la Portilla wrote: “The only tampering is the State’s tampering.”

Billy Corben Instagram - #BREAKING: Women DO NOT have the right to choose in Daniella Levine Cava’s office

Miami-Dade Mayor Levine Cava, her political puppeteer Christian Ulvert, and chief of staff Johanna Cervone forced candidate JennyLee Molina to drop out of Florida State House race in District 113 by bullying her and threatening her job as mayor’s digital strategist, campaign sources say.

The week of May 13th began with communications expert and 305 Cafecito and 305 Day founder Molina CONFIRMING with her boss Levine Cava and the Miami-Dade Ethics Commission that she could run against Republican incumbent @vickilynnlopez — without resigning from her job as the mayor’s digital strategist.

After all, Levine Cava’s endorsed candidate for sheriff, the grossly unqualified James Reyes, has not resigned as Miami-Dade Chief of Public Safety — a position the mayor politically promoted him to ahead of the election in order to beef up his weak law enforcement credentials. Double standard?

The week ended with Molina FILING to run — Democrats have a 12% advantage in HD113, making it one of the party’s ONLY flippable Miami-Dade state house seat — and then, following a dizzying series of calls between Cava, consultant cartel boss Ulvert, and Cervone, WITHDRAWING from the race a day later.

With Levine Cava, it’s always a different story on Friday than it was on Monday. She’s indecisive and incompetent — at best.

Cava, Ulvert and Cervone threatened Molina’s livelihood, insisting she’d have to quit her job (the opposite of what the mayor and ethics commission originally said) — but more pointedly, they claimed her race would harm the mayor politically so she should not run, sources involved in Molina’s short lived campaign say.

High-profile Dems including Minority Leader @FentriceDriskell and Miami-Dade Commission Chair Oliver Gilbert ogilbert3 @chairmangilbertsoffice made a DEAL with Republicans to NOT challenge Lopez and proactively DISCOURAGE potential challengers, FORFEITING one of the ONLY contested partisan race the local party can win this cycle.

Billy Corben - 3.9K Likes - With the election just one week away, I was concerned that the race for Miami-Dade Democratic Party Chair remained uncontested.

Billy Corben - 3 Likes - #BREAKING (UPDATED): Sergio Pino, “one of the largest Hispanic Homebuilders in the nation,” dead of “apparent suicide” during FBI and SWAT raid today at his Cocoplum Miami mansion during investigation into his allegedly poisoning — and hiring men to threaten — his estranged wife

Billy Corben - 3 Likes - ¡Pobrecito, Pollo Carollo!

Billy Corben - 3 Likes - Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and her corrupt and incompetent Chief Operating Officer Jimmy Morales hired a fraudster and money launderer who spent nearly 12 years in prison for embezzling taxpayer money from public contracts to oversee county contracts — and promoted him!

Billy Corben - 3 Likes - According to Florida Bulldog, a few months after Tony promoted Reyes to colonel in 2019, Reyes greenlit the “purchase of ‘Stop the Bleed’ stations and bleeding control kits from North American Rescue, a company where Tony previously worked and later peddled its products out of his own company.”

Billy Corben - 3 Likes - While Miami Beach was hit by a 1-in-200 year flood, Mayor Steven Meiner and interim city manager Rickelle Williams were missing in action.

Under the settlement, the company and its employees didn’t admit any “liability, fault, guilt or wrongdoing.” — via The Miami Herald

Billy Corben - 3 Likes - #BREAKING: Police were called after Miami-Dade’s second greasiest mayor, Coral Gables’ real estate huckster and corrupt bully Vince Lago reportedly got into a confrontation with City Manager Amos Rojas at city hall on Tuesday.

Billy Corben - 3 Likes - #BREAKING: Disgraced ex-Miami commissioner Alex Díaz de la Portilla under investigation for alleged witness tampering in the bribery case and money laundering case against him that led to his removal from office by the Florida Governor #BecauseMiami

Altman called most of their defenses “ridiculous” and “improperly pled…because, as any first-year lawyer would have known, they weren’t affirmative defenses at all.” #BecauseMiami

Judge Altman says Miami city attorneys and their outside lawyers from firms Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney and @DentonsGlobal “wasted an enormous amount of the Court’s-not to mention the parties’ —time advancing positions that border on (and sometimes cross over into) frivolity.”

Corruption Tax: This is the inevitable result of @mayorofmiami Francis Suarez, commissioners Manolo Reyes @manolo_4_miami Joe Carollo and Christine King @iamchristineking and city attorneys recklessly handing over a blank check with NO OVERSIGHT to lawyers with perverse incentives who are playing with the house’s (read: the taxpayers’) money. It’s a multimillion dollar grift. Quintessential taxation without representation and the antithesis of fiscal conservatism.

Democrats never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. @nikkifriedfl

Democrats never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. @nikkifriedfl

Caption : #BREAKING: Women DO NOT have the right to choose in Daniella Levine Cava’s office Miami-Dade Mayor Levine Cava, her political puppeteer Christian Ulvert, and chief of staff Johanna Cervone forced candidate JennyLee Molina to drop out of Florida State House race in District 113 by bullying her and threatening her job as mayor’s digital strategist, campaign sources say. The Third District Court of Appeal agreed with the lower court that the plaintiff Jose R. Alvarez’s “Complaint contains sufficient allegations to survive a motion to dismiss asserting sovereign immunity.”

The Complaint specifically alleges that “Mendez acted in bad faith, with malicious purpose, and in willful disregard to [Alvarez’s] property rights when she made this referral with intent to personally profit, through her husband’s company, from the sale of [Alvarez’s dead mother’s] home.”

“The Complaint does more than merely copy and paste language from the statute. It contains factual allegations that Mendez was involved in a conspiracy with her husband to defraud Alvarez...”

“Because the Complaint sufficiently alleges that Mendez acted in bad faith or with malicious purpose or in a manner exhibiting wanton and willful disregard of Alvarez’s property, we affirm the trial court’s order denying Mendez’s motion to dismiss.”

The study says Miami‘s typical daily commute of 58 minutes is the fourth worst in Florida — that’s 236.86 hours or approximately 10 full days in traffic every year.

Miami New Times reports “Hialeah’s average daily commute time of 57.4 minutes ranked 35th on the national list — just three spots below Miami.”
