Nick Baga Instagram - Just one of those days... I'll start by saying, all is well, I am healthy, I have a home, food to eat, water to drink and people to love. I am grateful for this life. But I'm human, I have hard days, sometimes for no specific reason at all. I'm trying to keep the momentum going as the year just begun and working to keep my stoke alive for what's ahead. However, I'm not going to lie some moments are tough. No matter how many years I've been auditioning I still seem to get my hopes up and visualize booking the job so much so that I often get bummed when I don't. Also having a brand with giant goals that I know are possible but can feel so far out of reach overwhelms me. To even showing up on here, which I know is my choice, but being consistent has become a priority to me and although there's so many vids/photos in my phone I get so bogged down trying to put out what aligns with exactly how I'm feeling or is authentic enough to share with you all. All of which are privileges and are not the problem... it's my relationship to where I'm at and where I see myself that is the problem that stresses me out. I'm sharing all this to say, even when we're doing our best, even when we are in a good situation, even when the groundwork has already be laid... life can still feel heavy and waves of self doubt creep in. To whoever is reading this and may relate, let me remind you that you are capable, you are needed and important. Take a breath, take a day, take a week, take whatever you need... then keep going. No need to compare where I was or how I looked because like most things, health and wellness is an infinite game. The past few weeks have been a dream... from spending time exploring Costa Rica with my love to holding space for seven men on a life changing experience. I've been making new friends, eating mind blowing vegan food, surfing, stretching, adventuring and most importantly learning a lot about myself. My return home was bittersweet as I couldn't wait to see the pups and be in my own space however I felt a bit sad to leave Costa Rica and that this retreat I spent so much time curating came to an end. Took me a few days to re-acclimate to my life here in LA while trying to hold on to the peace and pace I was living. Grateful for these experiences that shape me and point me in the direction of the man I hope to become. I love this life I've built for myself and am excited for the future. Nick Baga Instagram - Counting my blessings. I'm feeling real lucky for this life I'm living and for those who choose to be apart of it. The past few weeks have been a dream... from spending time exploring Costa Rica with my love to holding space for seven men on a life changing experience. I've been making new friends, eating mind blowing vegan food, surfing, stretching, adventuring and most importantly learning a lot about myself. My return home was bittersweet as I couldn't wait to see the pups and be in my own space however I felt a bit sad to leave Costa Rica and that this retreat I spent so much time curating came to an end. Took me a few days to re-acclimate to my life here in LA while trying to hold on to the peace and pace I was living. Nick Baga Instagram - It's true. I am a certified Neat Freak. Ask anyone who really knows me. And to be honest often times I wish I wasn't. The thing is, life is so chaotic outside of my home that deep down I feel I NEED my house in order. I spend most of my days puttering about tidying up. When I'm stressed I clean. When I'm down I clean. When I'm excited, when I'm leaving town, when I return from a trip, when I am bored, I clean. Hahah Top secret but I'd even prefer to be late than to leave my house a mess. It's that hotel feeling... every time you get back it feels fresh and inviting and like a blank slate. That's how I love my home feel. Call me crazy, call me OCD. Nick Baga Instagram - Some feel good rainy morning movement. I must confess I haven't been dancing much lately and my body and soul feel it. There's been classes on my radar and songs I've been wanting to move to but have been caught up life'ing that I've not been making time. Everything in life feels better when I dance often. With that said, I intend to be dancing more and sharing more of it. Hope that's cool with ya'll! ;) Funny story, in the gym the other day I overheard a conversation where a girl was telling her guy friend that her date was cancelled because the man she was going on a date with wanted to take a dance class. His response was basically "you know he's not a keeper if he's a grown man taking dance class." I just laughed to myself and thought how silly this guy was... dance has not only been the greatest gift of my life, took me around the world, introduced me to all the people I love most, opened my awareness to so much culture, spirituality and wellness, paid my bills and has helped me through all of my most challenging moments. Dance is an international love language and something us humans have been doing forever. Poor guy is missing out on one of life's greatest gifts. Nick Baga Instagram - The magic cannot leave you when it is you. Checking in. How's everybody feeling? This week was yet another whirlwind of ups and downs, highlights and heartbreaks. Began the week feeling anxious. Worked my ass off through another 5 days of rehearsals. Got wind of an old friend's passing. Found out big news about a project I'm a part of. Surfed with my love. Did some thrifting. Had a couple opportunities to share my passion with young aspiring artists. Pushed through some hard thoughts. Went swimming in the ocean under the full moon. And challenged a couple major habits of mine. Now I'm sitting here on this late Monday afternoon taking a deep breath to prepare for what's next. Here's the thing, I care. I care about it all. Everyone I affect. Everything that I do. I care to continuously get better. To show up and be more present everyday. And I gotta tell you sometimes it wears me out. But all in all I am grateful. Truly. For the people who support me, who love me, who trust me and welcome me into their spaces and projects. For the quick encounters and shared experiences. But I'm human, I have hard days, sometimes for no specific reason at all. I'm trying to keep the momentum going as the year just begun and working to keep my stoke alive for what's ahead. However, I'm not going to lie some moments are tough. No matter how many years I've been auditioning I still seem to get my hopes up and visualize booking the job so much so that I often get bummed when I don't. Also having a brand with giant goals that I know are possible but can feel so far out of reach overwhelms me. To even showing up on here, which I know is my choice, but being consistent has become a priority to me and although there's so many vids/photos in my phone I get so bogged down trying to put out what aligns with exactly how I'm feeling or is authentic enough to share with you all. All of which are privileges and are not the problem... it's my relationship to where I'm at and where I see myself that is the problem that stresses me out. I'm sharing all this to say, even when we're doing our best, even when we are in a good situation, even when the groundwork has already be laid... life can still feel heavy and waves of self doubt creep in. To whoever is reading this and may relate, let me remind you that you are capable, you are needed and important. Take a breath, take a day, take a week, take whatever you need... then keep going. Caption : Counting my blessings. I’m feeling real lucky for this life I’m living and for those who choose to be apart of it. This place has been my sanctuary and has witnessed many iterations of Nick Baga. It went from being a blank canvas to now just about every crevice has been personalized. I haven't done much painting in a while, but I do truly enjoy when I fall into the flow of making art. Lost in time, only focused on each stroke. What I love is that in the moments I feel uninspired or unmotivated I can look around my space and remember who I am. That I am a creator. That I have patience, precision and passion. And although these aren't some technical portraits or difficult works of art, they are visions of mine I've brought to life. Began the week feeling anxious. Worked my ass off through another 5 days of rehearsals. Got wind of an old friend's passing. Found out big news about a project I'm a part of. Surfed with my love. Did some thrifting. Had a couple opportunities to share my passion with young aspiring artists. Pushed through some hard thoughts. Went swimming in the ocean under the full moon. And challenged a couple major habits of mine. Now I'm sitting here on this late Monday afternoon taking a deep breath to prepare for what's next. Here's the thing, I care. I care about it all. Everyone I affect. Everything that I do. I care to continuously get better. To show up and be more present everyday. And I gotta tell you sometimes it wears me out. But all in all I am grateful. Truly. For the people who support me, who love me, who trust me and welcome me into their spaces and projects. For the quick encounters and shared experiences.
