I respect you and I am grateful for all the things I learned from you when I was a kid that helped me survive into adulthood. I am grateful for the way you understand that I am my own gender, that doesn’t negate yours at all, and I feel seen by you, and I see you. I respect your struggle and your labor. I love your sense of humor, and the fact that we both love stop animation movies, The Price is Right, and Alanis Morrisette. I love that we both love mustard, vampires, Grandma Helen’s caramel popcorn, admiring shiny rocks, French bulldogs, and clapping and rubbing our hands together when we’re excited. I am grateful you are so silly. I am grateful that I hear you in my voice when I speak sometimes. I am grateful that we were brought together to connect in this universe, no matter the circumstances that brought us together. I also respect your survival through the ways you’ve experienced harm. Working on my latest film, I learned some things I wasn’t aware of before about LGBTQ youth. I didn’t know that in over half of the U.S., it is legal for providers to try and convince young people not to be LGBTQ . And I didn’t know how incredibly harmful that process can be — that in most cases it leads to substance abuse and self-harm, even suicide. I am grateful to @bornperfect for their work to make me and the filmmaking team aware of this terrifying reality for too many queer and trans kids and the work they do every day to end this harmful practice.

I helped tell a fictional story about the horrors of so-called “conversion therapy,” and now I want to support real life survivors telling theirs. Please join me in telling LGBTQ youth that they are born perfect and we have their backs: text ‘BornPerfect’ to 44-321 to donate spare bucks to help end the cause of ending Conversion Therapy (abuse) ❤️

You have been there for all my struggles over the past five or six years, holding my hand as I work through healing from traumatic experiences, welcoming me with open arms when my heart is ready to come home. The patience you have for me and the love I feel from you is profound, and a priceless gift.

Today is your birthday, and I’m not able to celebrate with you in person, sweet @williamrusan . I miss you so much, and I love you so much, and I can’t wait to see you when I get home from work. I can’t wait to come home and touch your butt and tell you I think it’s meaty, and that the overall you is rather appetizing.

In the meantime, here’s some more nice things I have to say. You are HOT AS FUCK. You have a great sense of humor. You are really good at cooking seafood. You make excellent homemade pizzas. You’re thoughtful, intelligent, and incredibly insightful. You have a great singing voice, and a beautiful speaking voice too. You’re a very physically attractive person. Sometimes it’s hard to make eye contact because I’ll just get lost in your beautiful, dark, eyes. I still quiver with excitement when I am around you, just as I felt the first time you came over to my apartment after a lyft shift to hang. According to all available evidence, autism has occurred in humans ever since the species of humans evolved. This means it has occurred in all types of people & all genders, not just White, Cisgender Boys. Autistic people have a disability that needs to be supported & accommodated, NOT CURED. Allistic (non-autistic people) people should work to educate themselves on Autism to help eliminate stigma around this neurodevelopmental disorder. Autistic people face a myriad of violent corrective bullshit & are largely not accepted. Society is still very very ableist in many many ways, expecting people to be “able” to be “normal.” Fuck that.

Kevin Bacon plays Owen Whistler in this slasher horror film set at an LGBTQIA conversion camp. Several queer and trans campers join Whistler for a week of programming intended to “help them find a new sense of freedom”. As the camp’s methods become increasingly more psychologically unsettling, the campers must work together to protect themselves. When a mysterious killer starts claiming victims, things get even more dangerous.

Theo Germaine - 5.3K Likes - On Monday, I had the privilege of moderating a talk about Page Boy at the Barrymore Theatre. It doesn’t happen often I get a star struck & anxious, which definitely happened in the green room underneath the stage. Queer representation, although there’s many positive/progressive things going on, is all over the place. Not many of us get to just be actors, but rather get tokenized in some kind of way by the public. Elliot’s memoir is a reminder that no matter how well known someone is, they are still a human being. And when someone who is well known decides to share such a vulnerable part of themselves - which Page Boy does beautifully, it gives me hope. It’s also validating to read a book where someone gets to just tell their story in full color & reveal their struggles, but not in a way where the person in question is being a little pushed to expose themselves for work/job prospects.

As an actor, this book is also very stimulating in a way that is like - here is this amazing professional who has been working in the film industry for over 20 years, talking about struggles they’ve experienced getting into character, their feelings on acting theory, their excitement about roles, the journey of learning how to set boundaries, plus the journey of finding true comfort in the self, and the joy getting to put that energy back into a role. The way the memoir addresses fear, shame, guilt, denial, & longing, is raw, real, & so relatable. I believe it’s a new crucial text for anyone who is feeling a little out of touch with themself and needs a reminder that it’s possible to make the body feel like home.

To everyone who came to Madison to see our talk - I thank you. That was a fun, special night we had together and I wish we had time to answer all your questions! Thanks for applauding when I told the entire house I had an anxiety disorder. I hope you feel as positively about Page Boy as I do. This night will be one of my favorite memories for a long time. I’m so glad we all got to share such special space with each other.

Please head to the account of @jonlamart and/or @megraeart to understand more about the app - make your decision as to whether or not you want to take yours down to. I am not trying to shun ai generated art, and don't think it should be, but I do want the voices of visual artists to be heard on this, specifically because of how cheap it is to generate a lot of images versus paying an artist for their work. My understanding of this too now is that issue is also complex, but I wanted to take my images down. I am also so sorry if I offended anybody by posting ai-generated images from Lensa ☺️

PSA, Lensa, the face app uses Stable Diffusion which is still using Datasets from stolen data and ART all over the internet. This is how it knows how to mimic art styles. It’s unethical, and Big tech is behind this ripping off artists everywhere for $8 a pop. This is what normalizing data/art thievery looks like. It’s malicious apps disguised as fun trends. If you are an artist, or truly appreciate us, Stop messing with this .

I have taken down my ai reel after doing a lot of reading about the ins and outs of #lensa – sharing this to help educate others about this specific app potentially engaging in art theft. The project is all about the inner lives of gay and queer trans men; it's about sex, desirability, navigating attraction and heavily features Lou Sullivan and Chicago. Many wonderful subjects were interviewed over the course of several years in the making of this; the documentary is full of eye-opening personal stories. DESIRE LINES made its world premiere at Sundance 2024, taking home the Next Special Jury Award and has since been having screenings at more festivals than I can list.

Join @elliotpage and me at The Barrymore Theatre (2090 Atwood Avenue 53704, Madison, Wisconsin) tomorrow evening (June 12th) at 7pm. We’re going to be talking about his new memoir, Page Boy! I feel incredibly privileged to have been asked to moderate this talk. This event is in partnership with A Room of One's Own Bookstore (@roomofonesownbooks ), a queer and trans owned establishment. Here is the information for the event and ticketing:

Please note this event will be held at the Barrymore Theatre. It's free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating is by general admission. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Pre-signed copies of Pageboy will be distributed for free to all attendees courtesy of a gift from the Cheryl Rosen Weston Estate.

The Barrymore has no steps at the entrance or to enter the Theatre’s main floor. We have an ADA area in the back corner of the main floor with it’s own entrance. If you are more mobile, we could put you as close as the front row. You would have to navigate down the sloped aisle but wheelchairs, walkers and shuffling feet have all made it down there. We would just remove a couple of folding chairs for wheelchairs if need be. There is an ADA compliant restroom in the lobby.

Desire Lines was the first time i’d seen a film of transmasculine people candidly discussing their sexualities evolving after transitioning. i witnessed trans men talking about sex, kink, HIV, and more - not in my apartment, or at a party, but ON SCREEN ❤️ check out Desire Lines and send love their way! 🌹💐
