Vincent Laresca Instagram - January 17, 1992

Today marks the 32nd anniversary of this game changing and iconic masterpiece.

This movie was Pac's first major acting debut where he played Roland "Bishop". He delivered a brilliant and unforgettable performance as he embodied the cold and sinister villain Bishop into perfection. Pac didn't just play Bishop. He WAS Bishop and he had the JUICE. As he once put it, he just took everything and internalized it. May this classic flick remain untouched. Here is how Pac described his character. Ā

"My character is Roland Bishop, a psychotic, insecure very violent, very short tempered individual. Bishop just wanted to get respect. He wanted the respect that his father didn’t get. Everything he did, he did just to get a rep. I surprised myself by just getting the part. I didn’t believe it. I still don’t believe it. I still walk down the street, and if somebody notices me, I feel uncomfortable. And then I go; "oh yeah the movie." I'll never do another role like that again, unless there’s a sequel."Ā

On this day in 1992 "Juice" was released in theaters. It was directed and written by @ernest_dickerson. @2pac played the film's antagonist Roland "Bishop" which launched his amazing but shortlived acting career.

It also starred @omarepps as Quincy "Q" Powell, @khalilkain as Raheem Porter, @jermainehopkinsoffical as Eric "Steel" Thurman and @vincentlaresca as "Radames".Ā Best cast chemistry ever.

The film included special appearances by @samuelljackson as Trip, @flexaforeal as the contest auditioner, @queenlatifah as Ruffhouse MC, Doctor Dre, @edlover and @propmasterretro as contest judges, @fab5freddy as himself, @cindyherronbraggs of @envoguemusic as "Yolanda" and @pmd_mic_doc and @erick_sermon as bar patrons. Also cameo roles from @donald_aison and @treachtribe of @naughtybynature4ever.Ā

"Juice" generated over 8 million during it's opening weekend and pulled in over 20 million at the box office.

Vincent Laresca Instagram - #juice was released 30 years ago today. I will never forget the day I was told I ā€œgot the partā€ I was so excited I went and shot hoops In the snow crying. I just turned 17 and had gotten so much rejection up to that point I was going to quit acting. I ran through the rain with my headshot to get the audition, arriving as Jacki Brown was closing the office door. I handed her my headshot, got the audition and the rest is history.. I often think if one little thing went wrong that day, I would still be in #queens with broken dreams.. never give up.. always believe in yourself unconditionally.. even when your dreams seem crazyā¤ļø. Vincent Laresca Instagram - #sagstrike I can say as an actor for the past 32 years & member of #sag residuals were what allowed me to keep going when times were rough(most of time). It was shows like #lawandorder New York under cover which were the only shows shooting at the time in nyc when I started. If u did a guest spot you could survive for the year with residuals. If you did a part in a box office hit you could make some decent money from residuals. Since streaming we get very little. The truth is I started my own business many years ago because I saw the reality of a working actor today would not be feasible to have a quality of life. Even a very successful one at that. I fully support this #sagstrong action for the business to change and allow the creatives to participate when a project does well.. #wgastrong

Vincent Laresca Instagram - This makes me so #proud it’s a start but #hollywood has a long way to go. #latinos make up almost 20% of the US population but are only represented in less than 5% of the roles and less than 3% behind the camera. Vincent Laresca Instagram - So happy for my #hometown #nyc and congrats to @ericadamsfornyc time for change from a man who is a born and bred New Yorker who worked the streets as a @nypd officer and knows the reality of what #nyc needs to be the greatest city in the world.
Vincent Laresca Instagram - This made me so happy this morning knowing that the Mayor elect @ericadamsfornyc and NYC Speaker Adrienne Adams went to the same Highschool as myself. It was such a great experience growing up with people from neighborhoods all over #queens. This wasn’t my ā€œzonedā€ school and I was able to go there cause of a special program they had. I believe this was the case with a lot of kids. Public School education is so important and to have kids from all walks of life under one roof all learning together. To think one day I would be an actor and the future mayor of nyc could come from humble beginnings with a public education from bayside Highschool shows. America greatest country in the world!

Vincent Laresca - 442 Likes - I always love my birthday January 21st. Every four or eight years is the first day of a new presidency. This year is extra special as this amazing nation begins to heal. I always revel in this great democracy that has given a city kid who came from a very tough background all the dreams I only ever imagined.

He set the example. Photo is of us at WW2 memorial pointing to his Uncle Jerry who was killed in action fighting for our freedoms.

Where do they work? Where are they coming from? I look for at their shoes, the way they walk, the pace… all the things I think about when playing a character… some of my best ideas came sitting on a ny bench. #iloveny

#wgastrong

She was the woman who helped raise me when I didn’t have a mother in my life. She was the woman who always believed in me. In life, it is people like this that make all the difference in which road a young kid who had a really tough childhood does down. Every day I count my blessing I had people like her in my life.
