Vincent Laresca Instagram - #juice was released 30 years ago today. I will never forget the day I was told I ā€œgot the partā€ I was so excited I went and shot hoops In the snow crying. I just turned 17 and had gotten so much rejection up to that point I was going to quit acting. I ran through the rain with my headshot to get the audition, arriving as Jacki Brown was closing the office door. I handed her my headshot, got the audition and the rest is history.. I often think if one little thing went wrong that day, I would still be in #queens with broken dreams.. never give up.. always believe in yourself unconditionally.. even when your dreams seem crazyā¤ļø. It was such a great experience growing up with people from neighborhoods all over #queens. This wasnā€™t my ā€œzonedā€ school and I was able to go there cause of a special program they had. I believe this was the case with a lot of kids. Public School education is so important and to have kids from all walks of life under one roof all learning together. To think one day I would be an actor and the future mayor of nyc could come from humble beginnings with a public education from bayside Highschool shows. America greatest country in the world!

Caption : January 17, 1992 Today marks the 32nd anniversary of this game changing and iconic masterpiece. This movie was Pac’s first major acting debut where he played Roland “Bishop”. He delivered a brilliant and unforgettable performance as he embodied the cold and sinister villain Bishop into perfection. Pac didn’t just play Bishop. He WAS Bishop and he had the JUICE. As he once put it, he just took everything and internalized it. May this classic flick remain untouched. Here is how Pac described his character. Ā  “My character is Roland Bishop, a psychotic, insecure very violent, very short tempered individual. Bishop just wanted to get respect. He wanted the respect that his father didnā€™t get. Everything he did, he did just to get a rep. I surprised myself by just getting the part. I didnā€™t believe it. I still donā€™t believe it. I still walk down the street, and if somebody notices me, I feel uncomfortable. And then I go; “oh yeah the movie.” I’ll never do another role like that again, unless thereā€™s a sequel.”Ā  On this day in 1992 “Juice” was released in theaters. It was directed and written by @ernest_dickerson. @2pac played the film’s antagonist Roland “Bishop” which launched his amazing but shortlived acting career. It also starred @omarepps as Quincy “Q” Powell, @khalilkain as Raheem Porter, @jermainehopkinsoffical as Eric “Steel” Thurman and @vincentlaresca as “Radames”.Ā Best cast chemistry ever. The film included special appearances by @samuelljackson as Trip, @flexaforeal as the contest auditioner, @queenlatifah as Ruffhouse MC, Doctor Dre, @edlover and @propmasterretro as contest judges, @fab5freddy as himself, @cindyherronbraggs of @envoguemusic as “Yolanda” and @pmd_mic_doc and @erick_sermon as bar patrons.
