This day feels surreal, I have always dreamed of being a mum and it is not lost on me how privileged I am to now be one. I’ve always had a deep love, understanding and appreciation for my mama and the sacrifices I knew she made becoming a mother but now being one myself I truly know the extent of it all. The total encompassing love you have for your babies, the knowing without a shadow of a doubt that you would go to the ends of the universe just so they wouldn’t ever have to feel pain or sadness. The sleepless nights, the tears, the grieving of your old self plus the road to discovering who you are on top of now being a mother and the looking down at your screaming Bub and still thinking ‘my gosh you are so worth every bit of pain I feel’. I will never ever be able to articulate how grateful I am to my mama. But ma somehow I think you already know.
