Alisha Gaddis Instagram – ✨FYC!! It’s Grammy season!! ✨Why are they doing this you may ask yourself? Haven’t they been nominated/won enough? Well, I usually write very succinct posts – but I wanted to answer this very transparently about this Grammy FYC go-round with BRILLO BRILLO. @theluckyband_ , our team/friends and I have worked together for over a decade and have been so fortunate with our wins (and even losses!) The truth is, my husband, Lucky Diaz, has lost 75% of his hearing and there is no going back. Since this is his journey, I wasn’t sure if and/or when he was going to share it. It’s a devastation and a loss that is multi-layered. Our lives have had to change significantly in the past two years (you may have noticed) preparing for the inevitable. Anyhoo- this album was crafted over time with lots of joy and even more tears – reflecting this shitty, shitty situation in our real lives. Celebrating what we have, and what we are losing via this loss. Time is slipping away. We want to honor that. Share and celebrate the music while we can and truly, reach as many families as possible. This is why we have BRILLO BRILLO up for Grammy nomination consideration. My husband deserves that try. And this album. THIS album – may just be the most powerfully, beautiful yet. It’s authentically genius. And I’m so thankful for the now. Thank you for considering, listening and sharing on our real lives.
