From traveling the globe on tight deadlines, to now enjoying the quiet life in the English countryside, the landscape of #ClaudiaSchiffer’s life has changed since the 90s. This month, the icon opens up about her life as a mother of three, and the aspects of parenting that are most important to her — starting with their education. Describing her children as young adults with “down to earth personalities and lack of arrogance,” she reveals why she chose to step away from the city life when it came to raising her family. “The oldest two grew up in London, where the paparazzi followed us to school every day,” she recalls. “When one morning our youngest, at the time 6-years-old, confessed that she was famous, we knew it was time to move to the countryside.” Also in our #September2024 issue, industry icon Michèle Lamy on her definition of beauty, the return of Egyptian singer and actor Anoushka, and a deep dive into the lesser-known aspects of painter Mahmoud Saïd’s storied career, along with all things fashion. This month, cover star #ClaudiaSchiffer offers a peek into the golden age of supermodels, aka the 90s, where she dominated runways alongside #NaomiCampbell, #CindyCrawford, and #LindaEvangelista. “The 90s saw the rise of style culture, the supermodel and fearless creativity; a wave of young new talent emerged and fundamentally changed the way we viewed fashion and design. I barely took a day off, traveling constantly across the world, but it was huge fun too,” says Schiffer. “It’s only once I got married and got pregnant — and therefore took a slower pace — that I was able to look back and realize how special the 90s were and different to any other decade.
