. سازمان ملل، ضرب و شتم نرگس محمدی و سایر زنان زندان اوین را مصداق «شکنجه» اعلام کرد. کارشناسان حقوق بشر سازمان ملل، سه‌شنبه ۳۰ مرداد ۱۴۰۳، با ابراز نگرانی اعلام کردند که حکومت ایران همچنان دسترسی به مراقبت‌های بهداشتی به‌موقع و مناسب را برای مدافع حقوق بشر نرگس محمدی و سایر بازداشت‌شدگان، با وجود درخواست‌های مکرر، رد کرده است. این بیانیه مشترک با پشتیبانی ۱۵ کارشناس مستقل سازمان ملل، از جمله مای ساتو، گزارشگر ویژه وضعیت حقوق بشر در جمهوری اسلامی ایران که از ابتدای ماه جاری میلادی مأموریت خود را آغاز کرده، منتشر شده است. گزارشگران موضوعی و کارشناسان ارشد کارگروه‌های دیگر سازمان ملل، از جمله کارگروه بازداشت‌های خودسرانه، نیز از جمله امضاکنندگان این بیانیه هستند. پایگاه اطلاع‌رسانی حقوق بشر سازمان ملل اعلام کرد که این کارشناسان، ضمن اعلام نگرانی‌های عمیق درباره سلامت جسمی و روانی نرگس محمدی که «به دولت ایران منتقل شده است»، بار دیگر از مقامات جمهوری اسلامی خواستند «که فوراً او را آزاد کنند و دسترسی کامل به مراقبت‌های پزشکی را بدون تأخیر برای او و سایر بازداشت‌شدگان فراهم کنند.» GENEVA – UN human rights experts* today expressed dismay that Iran continues to deny access to timely and appropriate healthcare to human rights defender, Narges Mohammadi and other detainees, despite repeated appeals. “Our deep concerns about the physical and mental integrity of Narges Mohammadi have been communicated to the Iranian Government,” the experts said. “Once again we call on Iranian authorities to release her immediately and ensure her access to full medical care without delay, along with other detainees.” Over the past eight months, Mohammadi has been suffering from acute back and knee pain, including a herniated spinal disc, according to medical specialists and MRI and CT scan examinations.
