honored and proud to be an ambassador for @captainpaulwatson and @neptunespirates captain paul watson has been one of my heroes since he started greenpeace after swimming in front of a sperm whale and placing himself as a human shield right before three harpoons were fired, risking his own life to save the pilot whale to starting one of the most IMPORTANT organizations GREENPEACE and SEA SHEPHERD. there are still 3 countries – norway, iceland, japan – and the faroe islands that are still whaling, and continuing to do beyond BARBARIC things to these beings that are smarter and more compassionate than most humans on earth. i will do anything i can to continue speaking against whaling. @neptunespirates is working to stop these atrocities happening in the FAROE ISLANDS, an average of 1,100 dolphins, including pilot whales, are deliberately slaughtered each year in faroe Islands, a country just 200 miles off the coast of the UK. the grindadráp, the name for this killing, has no fixed season or dates – a grindadráp can be called at anytime of year and there’s no limit on how many animals may be killed per annum. the faroes is a modern society, with supermarkets, shopping malls and a high standard of living. the killing continues in the name of tradition despite the hunts of today using powerboats and jet skis. culture and tradition can never be an excuse for cruelty. #TraditionsCanChange #OpBloodyFjords #NeptunesPiratesUK #IfTheOceanDiesWeDie
