Got a minute ? I don’t usually share, but I’ve had this urge to talk lately. Four years ago, I was diagnosed with acute depression and have been on medication since. Over these years, I’ve had horrible days, good days, bad days, and the occasional great day. Every morning, I wake up not knowing what kind of battle I’m preparing for. I guess that’s why they call it battling a disease—it really does feel like a fight every single day. One thing that’s never left me is this heavy rock on my chest. I’ve tried everything—reading, dancing, singing, cleaning—but it’s always there. Sometimes I wonder if it will ever go away. Four years is a long time to live with this weight. Lately, though, I’ve had this urge to just rip the rock out and throw it away. I’m so tired of fighting, of carrying this burden. Maybe I’m just done with it now. I don’t know what true, genuine happiness feels like anymore, but I’ve decided that I WILL find it—by hook or by crook. I know there will still be good and bad days, but I refuse to let this rock live on my chest any longer. I’m determined to break it.🌻
