Wow how time flies ha ❤️ It is our 17th wedding #anniversary I love you @roopaksaluja ❤️🧿❤️… Thank you for being the bestest husband to me and bestest friend and bestest Daddy to our kids as I am sure your spouses are to you! Sorry for the mushy post and vid, it is a #flashback vid. You will notice our kids are now way bigger than in the vid and the num of years mentioned in it is less. Here is to us all staying healthy happy safe and in love forever and beyond touch wood😀. Just to make it less gushy, while we adore each other, ofcourse we do have little fights now and then which is ofcourse so normal, so just in case this seemed too lovey dovey , just keeping it real too. I am no expert but 16 years into a very happy marriage and I do think mutual respect, easy friendship, great physhcal chemistry and encouraging each other and ofcourse bringing up our children together make the bond stronger and stronger. Happy #childrensday all kids! Must admit our kids teach us so much..As #teens now I honestly feel I am getting the biggest lesson in emotion management, and often non management too haaha! But through it all, the roller coaster of #parenting, as I said in Season 1 of #thetarasharmashow when our kids were babies, no matter what region, religion or culture we come from, the intense emotion of infinite love for our kids is universal. So yes even while in the midst of a lil tiff like now haaha… We adore our kids and wish them and all kids the best of all good things always touch wood😀❤️🧿💙🩷. Each to their own and no judgement on if one chooses to have or not have kids, but for me I will admit having our kids is my greatest joy and learning. The amazing parts and even the honest often flare ups. Even the moments I may be exasperated and I often have no clue how to handle certain teenage things, but then as a family we learn together. @artmumbaiofficial was lovely! Only regret, should have spent longer as there’s so much to absorb. Our kids, one at a football match and one at an interschool MUN, couldn’t make it and Roopak had work so I went solo and ofcourse met sooo many people I knew. This feeling of familiarity, of belonging is a special thing and I am grateful to call our beautiful (though polluted) city, Bombay/ Mumbai, home. Not sure why I started with that but I think it’s because #artmumbai immediately felt warm, vibrant and home like. I loved the #art , the atmosphere, the warm hospitality, the bands that friends of our kids performed in and the feeling of belonging, as described above. These intangible things are often hard to explain so apologies if this sounds a bit philosophical but it’s a feeling. Being at the racecourse, familiar turf, pun intended, haaha, added to that! I have grown up with art all around me. Dad #partapsharma was a multifaceted artist, not painter, but an author, playwright, known for his amazing voice, actor and more, Mum #suesharma an art historian, is a wonderful artist (water colours mainly and for now mostly for family) herself and goes to galleries, museums and lectures constantly, always learning. She often says the access one has in Bombay to amazing art is at par or better than anywhere in the world. My parents have and had several artist friends. Some I didn’t even realise then were famous, always humble. I don’t go to galleries nearly as much as I should but I try and learn through osmosis but this art fair is super especially for those of us who may not go to #galleries often as it’s all under one, or a few huge tents rather, space. Kudos and thanks @minal_vazirani (and for being in this haaha) @dgvazirani Mohit of @official360one Shaheen &all the team. Ah and for me art 🖼️ or paintings are anything I love looking at. It needn’t be expensive or by someone famous, just whatever we like. Our walls are full of art, many unknown and obscure but all things we love to look at. Some by our kids too ❤️🧿. So moving! @teachforindia @shaheen_mistri kids, teachers, kudos! We were all moved to tears watching the incredible 15th anniversary show. So professional, so magnificent and the fact that so many children taught by #TFI go back to being fellows and or teachers is just such testimony of the incredible impact #education and #teachforindia has in changing lives and #leading with #love , the theme of the spectacle last evening. Why do Leaders need Love? A simple question that 3 school going kids found the answer to through the wonderful journey of the musical. The end credits were several screens packed with millions of names as that is truly how many people this movement has touched. Quite sure everyone in the beautiful theatre shed at least a few tears. Not sad tears but tears of hope and an incredulous feeling that so many are, have and will be benefited by this movement. We all walked out feeling we all need to do more to help. Not everyone maybe able to be a fellow or teacher but in our own ways we are all able to teach and help give opportunities to those who may not otherwise have had them. The little lights in the auditorium showing how everyone is part of the movement had me tearing up too. I won’t ramble on, suffice to say Thank You! Thank you for sharing this with us and spreading your light! #staysafe
What a day of footy! From starting with a super win by Kai’s @mumbaicityfc team at their first @dpdl_official match of the season, 11 a side and very professional, to finishing just in time (photos and all) to rush and make it for the 2nd of 4 matches at an interschool tournament thankfully close by. Won the next 3 and yipeee the boys’ and girls’ teams of our super school school, that’s actually not known for being great at sport but working on it, won that tourny in their age group. 6 a side shorter games but exciting still. Woohoo! I felt like I’d played by the time we left haaha! Not just about winning, losing, winning, winning, but about all the other learnings too and the joy the sport gives. Not just to the kids passionate about playing but us parents too! Yep that’s a pic of us #mcfc soccer parents in there too haaha! Thank you fab teams organisers coaches et all! It is shocking how prevalent the heinous act of child sex abuse is and ofcourse it is imperative to eradicate it from society. Here a snippet of a discussion on this serious topic.
