This past July, Vivienne went to LA with me while I shot a movie. So that I could breastfeed her instead of pump. So that we could continue our bonding.
All of this was not my idea. All of this happened because @sofialand said, “just bring her! Stay with us and I’ll snuggle with her then I’ll take to her to set.” @nrpaytonla said, “borrow our pak n play.” @seaniesugrue said, “never feel you have to explain why you need to leave set and nurse her… just go and don’t even think about it.”
We then got covid day before our PA return and had to extend our LA trip and fly straight to Vegas for my next gig. All this happened because @ppisanchyn said, “don’t cancel Vegas. You really want to go to Vegas. Youre a working mom. Everyone will help you, I know it. I’ll keep taking care of Mercedes. Don’t worry about her. We’ll be okay.” @pallavisastry and @therealharistyles said, “stay at our guest house as long as you need. Just text us and we’ll bring you all food.” Derek and @rthabiger at @coolwatersprods said, “we’ll make Star Trek Las Vegas happen. She will not be a problem. We can’t wait to meet her. ” @the_real_fab_mrs._p said, “we’ll take her then bring her to you to nurse her.” @creationent reps said “we want to meet her! I hear she’s at your booth!”
My second go at breastfeeding has been completely different. We are more public than ever because Covid was so new with Merc. We are wiser about juggling more schedules. And I’m asking for more help. And the tribe is showing up.
So to all my mamas out there, where ever you are in you BF journey: look around and ask for help. Those who want to will show up!
