Jane Moore Instagram – I’m slightly obsessed by factory tours so whenever I get a chance to go and see how things are produced, I jump at the chance. A friend was having a business meeting @dunelmuk HQ in Leicester today and I piggybacked and cadged a look round the bespoke curtains and blinds section. I didn’t even know they did made to measure! Wow – what a set up. I met the skilled cutters before seeing the huge sewing department and speaking to a man doing invisible hem stitching who has been sewing for 28 years! Then the finished curtains are inspected and hung on hooks so they don’t get dirty. I saw a couple of VIP deliveries but my lips are sealed! I also met the fab design team who were coming up with interiors ideas for cushions, chairs etc up to 2026! Considering Dunelm started as a ‘seconds’ market stall run by Bill and Jean Adderley in Leicester in 1979, it’s done pretty well for itself! This isn’t an ad, by the way. I was genuinely just there as a fan.
