I think Tash was saying “can I take this off now ?” But can’t quite recall. Just asked about our adornments, mum said she was “improvising”, and then” I think they were meant for tables originally” x
The saying goes when life gives you lemons make lemonade. I say, when your little tree gives you a lemon, notice it, and say a big THANK YOU. I ve had this plant for about 7 years and in all this time it’s produced 2 🍈s. A big deal. In these heartbreaking and also hopeful times…..it’s the little things . I received an email last night from old friend of my father’s ( you dear Bob) saying it was 33 years since we lost him. I forwarded it onto some of the Grandchildren he ‘d not had the luck of meeting ( I was pregnant with his 1st grandchild when he died). One of them answered ‘legend’. Made me so happy to feel they ‘sort of know him’ through family stories and places- all our lives have been influenced by his….cant find the right word…lens maybe.He could be a hard taskmaster, but he also inspired great mischief and expansion. When 1 of his films ( Oscar winning ‘Tom Jones’ ) became a big success he shared the dividends with his crew ( unheard of). His happiest times were behind the camera , or off trekking around the world “ I’m going to see the silver back gorillas !”. He loved drama and his friends and art of all kind. Son of a chemist from Yorkshire, he went on to make some of the most iconic films of his generation. 2nd picture is from ‘Taste of Honey’ with mesmeric Rita Tushingham and Paul Danquah. It’s so ahead of its time- please watch it ( available on Amazon Prime) .I saw most of his work after he died leaving me unable to ask him about them- a huge regret. No part of me can comprehend the level of hard work, commitment, discipline, inspiration of writers ✍️ . Book shops , like libraries, are sacred places to me but I get a bit trigger happy and come out laden. As a result my home has stacks of books randomly displayed like art installations. Writers, how do you do it? Murakami said he took up marathons, and later triathlons to give him the stamina to finish his novels. Thank you, thank you. We are the beneficiaries. Xxx #bookstagram
