Lisa Ray Instagram – After an abundance of presents and blessings this festive season, we decided as a family it was important to share our good fortune and give back.
I connected with @satisfied_souls22 run by @asmitaa.c a registered NGO in Dubai that has supported Dubai’s workforce by serving meals, essentials and offering support to the more vulnerable members in society for the last three years. We sponsored a hearty lunch for construction workers that took the shape of a small New Year’s celebration.
Serving – doing Seva- was an essential part of the experience. With my girls growing up surrounded by privilege and wealth in Dubai, I have to be resourceful on how to teach them gratitude and to make them not only aware of their advantages but develop that altruistic muscle. (Basically I’ll do everything to prevent them from becoming entitled brats)
I’m so happy to come across Asmita and her mission and as a family we pledge to volunteer with @satisfied_souls22 as often as possible.

Oh those moments of pure goodness. How much I need them today- how little I thought of them when I was young.
