Over 3 years & some months ago my heart recognised my daughter so completely & openly, without a seconds doubt or hesitation it felt what it felt, an overwhelming sense of love & commitment to a beautiful baby girl. She was visually challenged but that just made my heart feel more determined. The innate happiness & self confidence she was born with would only grow stronger, sight or no sight. My head also responded to my hearts command with clear creativity & decided no matter what came our way, this relationship would work, her life would be full of the love & opportunities her brothers have. Nuri was going to be the Queen of my heart from now on. Head brain knew I had all the resources within me to raise my children. It was as confident as my heart brain. And my gut simply picked Nur up & bought her home. Holding her & being her Ma, was the natural & intuitive thing to do. Zero hesitation. Zero second guessing when people told me I was too old, recovering from Cancer, she was visually challenged, I lived in Cambridge, the paperwork was going to take time. My gut knew, we got this. My heart, head & gut aligned like magic, autonomically, recognising, feeling & doing what had to be done. Best truth of my life was recognising & knowing Nuri is my amazing daughter. She is the most precious gift for our family. Each one of us adores her & values the joy she has brought into our lives. She is determined, confident, joyful, kind, bright & bold. She has my curls & my confidence, and her dad’s love of school! She loves to dance, read ( yes! Alhamdolillah she can see now), wrestle, tickle & watch Peppa cartoons. She goes to school & ballet & is joining the local football club next week. So this is me saying, when the heart wants to love, allow it, open it, invite your head to plan ways to expand it & your gut to act & embrace it. Let me add, I was ready for this love, because I had worked on, & had started THE most important journey of learning to accept, love & deeply respect MYSELF. That’s why there was no hesitation, no fear & no doubts. Self respect & self love bring a beautiful level of coherence to life, compassionately, creatively, courageously ♥️🙏🏽🤲🏽

SUPER EXCITED! The amazing team from @diamondsupremefoam came over to show me some mattresses. I have had the same mattress for over 24 years now. High time for a change! She simply loved the little reading cubbies! Uff. There is something for everyone! Mir, Mehvish Baji, Nur and I all became members of the amazing @aliflaila_official @aliflaila_bookbussociety today. I picked up two books on herbal remedies and Ayurveda, Mir picked up two books, so did Mahvish Baji, and Nuri picked up two amazing books. Nuri played in the play area, did some recreational work in the Early Learning Area, and then we bought a whole bunch of beautiful arts and crafts and a book, the proceeds for some specific products go to Palestine, the rest to women from the local community, who made the arts and crafts. The main library is awesome with a ladder that you can slide around the room as you search the shelves. The bus is fascinating and super cozy. The best thing is that Nuri learned the concept of BORROWING books and returning them once she has read them. Danny and The Dinosaur is a great award winning book and has become such a favourite that we’ve read it thrice already in one evening. The book called Gardens Of Hope is a beautiful work of art written and illustrated BY THE CHILDREN OF PALESTINE. Please do buy it. Love led sharing this all with you. And hope to have Nuris birthday party right here with my puppets and lots of amazing boos and activities. The price for joining this beautiful space is Rs 500 a year. Let’s get our children into the habit of revering books and libraries. Let’s teach them it’s lovely to borrow a book, and return it. We don’t always have to buy them. Nuris first Christmas Tree decoration. The boys and I would do it every year. But last year after didn’t feel like putting one up. Aleays had one at my own house in Shadman Lahore and Cambridge UK. So this time we decided to find a tree and have fun dressing it up with Nuri Patoori. Couldn’t find a green one so settled for a nice snowy white one. Had so much fun decorating it with the kids, cousins and all. Alhamdolillah for reasons to celebrate. Hazrat Issas upcoming birthday, Quaid-e-Azams birthday, my hubbys birthday, some close friends birthdays and new years Eve, then New Year’s Day! All good reasons to celebrate and decorate one of my favourite, closest friends in the world… a tree. Not that I need a reason. EVERY day is a great day to celebrate and why not dress up trees while your at it! Even though this is just a representative of one (fake tree) 😂 Hope you all enjoy your holiday season!
