Social Distortion / Blood Meridian V12/13 Unlocking 🔓🧠. This means a lot as my hardest climb back, proving to myself I can climb at this level again. I kept comparing myself to the old me but I’m done looking backwards. Only forwards now. 📸 @bobbysorich 🫶

On December 15th my mom was struck by a motorcycle crossing the street near her home in Costa Rica. She had severe brain bleeding on both sides of her brain and underwent an emergency corticotomy, cranioplasty, duroplasty, partial lobectomy, and hematoma drainage. I am down in Costa Rica with her in the ICU. We are waiting for her condition to be stable enough to medevac her back to the States. Medicare is refusing to help cover anything while she is out of the country. We are nearing the cap of her emergency international coverage. Any help would be to cover the rest of her stay in the ICU down here until we can medevac her home, where Medicare can help cover her again. She is the most vibrant, generous, and full of life person I’ve ever known, and my best friend. It’s been a very difficult few days for all of us and I’m thankful to those that have reached out. Please consider donating to help us bring my mom home and give her the best chance at recovery. Thank you from the bottom of my family’s hearts for your support, thoughts, and generosity during this challenging time. The link is in my bio. 🖤

Thank you. 🫶➡️ My mom was moved out of the ICU yesterday, and is now recovering in the Surgical Trauma Neuro Unit. She has amnesia, which should improve with time, and has begun physical therapy and speech therapy. I’m back in Utah now, trying to get back into a somewhat normal routine. I’ll be making frequent visits, but she has friends and family visiting her daily in Minneapolis and is in amazing hands at the hospital. Thank you to my friends who offered to travel to Costa Rica with me, everyone who offered to watch Sunny, my friends in healthcare I came to for advice, and those of my mom’s friends I leaned heavily on as her temporary replacement. And special thanks to my brother. Without him we would 1000% still be stuck in Costa Rica. 🤴

Ok look. I know I’ve talked about my knee a lot on here. But before tearing my ACL I’d never had a serious injury before, plus all the post op complications. I had no idea how much it would affect me psychologically. A huge part of what used to define me as a climber was boldness. Climbing confidently without fear, no matter how high off the deck or how bad the landing was. Now I look at almost every climb and picture the worst case scenario; images flash through my mind of falling and mangling my body in ways that you’d see in a Grey’s Anatomy episode. Vivid enough to make me physically recoil. My knee exploded when I was four inches off the ground. What would happen at four feet? FourTEEN feet? This just isn’t something I really thought about before, and that was a luxury and a privilege. I know this is something I’ll likely get over with more time, more strength, and more PT. But I feel so proud of every single moment when I push through it, just like this one. Thank you @melinacostanza for being so patient and supportive. I seriously could not do any of this without you. 🖤 Golden Chandelier V10

Last time in Moe’s I melted off the top of this climb at the end of the day like hot butter and my mom laughed hysterically at me. While not my hardest lately, it felt vindicating to send her this send vid last month before the chaos. 🫶 @athleticbrewing @evolv_worldwide @tensionclimbing @lskd.usa @rhinoskinsolutions @frictionlabs @legion
