Health update. Hey friends! After surgery and a month of radiation, I can officially say I am in remission for breast cancer. That means there is no detectable cancer in my body, which is great news! However, what has been more difficult for me are all the pills and monthly Lupron shots that I will need to be on for the next five years to ensure the cancer doesn’t return. I know I can do it, though. 💪🏼#fuckcancer #breastcancerawareness
Happy new year from my family to yours! 🥳

Hello 2005. 🚀 yes, those are Digimon bedsheets.
Had some time between doing radiation and getting my monthly Lupron shot. I went for a little walk to the nearby Arlington gardens. They have a wish tree and I spent a little time reading the wishes. I think it’s easy to wonder “why me? Why did I get cancer?” The tree was a good reminder that everyone is going through something. And a reminder that we should all be kind to each other because you never know what someone else is going through ❤️

Last Wednesday we evacuated our home due to the Los Angeles fires. We’re back now (our home and neighborhood are safe) and the air is getting a little better. We were lucky. We have lots of friends who have lost their homes. Beautiful neighborhoods are gone as well as some of the best hiking trails around. Los Angeles is an incredibly special place and I’m always proud to call it my home. Climate change is going to continue to ruin lives and destroy everything we love if people don’t step up. I hate that we just keep letting this shit happen. About 1 and 8 Americans live in California. More people live in Los Angeles than many states in the USA. Los Angeles matters in a big way, and it’s not just Hollywood. I love LA and always will.
Just thinking about poor @eatoncanyonnaturalarea . It’s currently engulfed in flames. This picture was taken May 5th, right after I was diagnosed with breast cancer. My good friend and I took a very long hike in Eaton Canyon to remind me how healthy and strong I am. We were alone at the waterfall and I wanted nature’s healing energy on my poor boobs! It felt empowering. I’m really going to miss this place. I go in for a Zometa infusion today (cancer treatments never end). I’m still in remission but you need to do a lot to keep it that way. Wish me luck friends ❤️
I went to check out the Pasadena Rose Parade floats today. My favorite was this recreation of a Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat. 🌹
