@azifilm PREMIERES TODAY AT SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVALLLL 🥹🫶🏽🎥 i truly can’t believe this is happening to me right now… i always knew we’d get here. i just didn’t know we’d get here this fast. 2 octobers ago, i got a self tape request in my inbox for a little role named azi. she came at a time when i couldn’t have needed her more. i just gone through a break up, the strikes were happening, and it just seemed as though there was no light at the end of the tunnel. being able to put on her skin allowed me to shut out the rest of the world and focus on what i love to do: create art. it was such an honor to be able to play her and such an honor to be able to represent my culture in a way that i never thought i would be able to… i wanna give a big thank you to @steven_snyder and @montanamann for believing in me and being the first to give me the opportunity to embrace my persian culture on screen; which is something i never thought i’d be able to say and is almost bringing me to tears as i write this. it’s a lot different than projects you all might know me from, but i pray that those of you who see it will fall in love with the story in the same way that i did when i read it 2 years ago. azi will be available to stream via sundance’s website so so soon (jan 30th!!)…keep an eye on stories for updates 🥹🎬🩷 #azifilm @sundanceorg #sundance
