Iman Meskini Instagram – 2024. Another year has come to an end. It’s strange how a year can feel both endlessly long and far too short at the same time. Some moments leave me wondering where the time went, while others make me question if the year would ever end. Maybe it’s tied to getting older? They say the older you get, the faster the years seem to pass. But time doesn’t actually speed up—perhaps we’re just getting worse at being present.✨
We rush through life as if we’re racing against the clock, chasing something undefined, without pausing to reflect, and certainly without looking back. But what is it we’re in such a hurry to catch? An education? A steady job? A loan? A house? A car? Then what..? A higher degree? A better job? A bigger loan? A larger house? A more expensive car? 🏡🚗
Somehow, these material things—degrees, jobs, loans, houses, cars—have become benchmarks for success. They’ve turned into the milestones we measure our worth against, as if accumulating more and better will fill some invisible void. But when we strip it all away, when life truly demands clarity, none of those things matter…🤷🏽♀️
In the end, it’s not the size of the house but the warmth of the home that counts. It’s not the car you drive but the journeys you share. It’s not the number of promotions but the connections you make along the way. What truly stays with us are the moments of love, kindness, and meaning. It’s the time we spend with the people who matter most.🫶🏽
Yet, we keep running, caught in a race we didn’t sign up for, chasing goals that often aren’t even our own. Have we forgotten how to live simply, how to appreciate what we already have? Or is it just easier to chase the next thing than to stop and ask ourselves the hard questions? What makes a life well-lived? What do we want to be remembered for?⏱️
Because when the years pass and we look back, it won’t be the material things that define our lives. It will be the relationships we nurtured, the lives we touched, and the moments we truly lived. Perhaps it’s time to step off the treadmill and start prioritizing what really matters before another year slips away.🤲🏽💎 | Posted on 02/Jan/2025 00:15:18
