It was a beautiful weekend of services with the Anoa’i family and close friends celebrating the life and legacy of Pops, best known as Afa the Wild Samoan. This entire family means the world to me and I cherish them all so much. I love you Pops, and will always remember how much you have helped me in my wrestling career. When the news broke yesterday of the passing of Afa The Wild Samoan, or “Pops” as all the boys knew him as, I couldn’t believe it. This one hit me really hard and I’m very saddened by this precious loss. He was nicknamed “Pops” by the boys because of how much of a father figure he was to all of us. He loved us all so much! Pops helped me in this business in more ways than anyone will ever know. He was family to me. His entire family is family to me. He was family, a friend, a mentor, and one of the top best humans I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Pops let me work for his promotion, WXW, back when it was out of Allentown, PA, way before my days in TNA as Velvet Sky. When I met Pops he immediately wanted to help me make a name for myself and succeed in this business. The more I worked for WXW the more I would realize those were some of the best days of my life because of the lifelong memories and friendships I made through Pops. He had so much faith in me that when he told me he wanted me to be the WXW Women’s Champ, I felt so grateful and humbled. Every time I had seen him well after his family moved out of PA, he always greeted me with happiness and kind words. I always reminded him how grateful I was for all he and his family had done for me and how I would never ever forget where I came from. I love the entire Anoa’i family and I’m sending all my condolences, love and prayers to Vale, “Mom” Afa Jr., Samu, Lloyd, Lance, Rikishi, and Pops’ entire family. A legend in this business whose spirit will always live on. Rest easy now, Pops. We all love you and will miss you so much. 🙏🏼🕊️😢
There are no words to describe this loss. I am so beyond sad at this news. The wrestling world lost a real one on Christmas. Jax was one of the nicest, most genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and working with in this business. He loved his life, wrestling, his wrestling family, and he would always talk about his wife and how madly in love with her he was to anyone who would listen. He was always willing to help the younger talent who would come into the @nwa without hesitation. He was so kind and gentle to all he came in contact with. My deepest condolences to his wife, family, wrestling family, friends and fans around the world. Rest in eternal peace, Jax. @jax_dane 🙏🏼🕊️

Real talk here for a minute… At the end of every year, I always hear people talking about how they can’t wait to get out of the current year they’re in and how the next year is going to be the best year of their lives, and how they’re leaving all their woes and problems in the previous year, but they do nothing to change anything about themselves or the way they operate or go about their daily lives in the new year. So the previous years problems follow them into the new year and they blame it on the year. So then the vicious cycle repeats itself at the end of the next year and the rest of the years to follow and people continue to wish each year away to get into the next year because they just miraculously think that because it’s a new year that everything is just going to align for them perfectly. It doesn’t work like that. You have to be the change that you want to see. It all starts within yourself. You have to put the work in on a daily basis and strive to be the best version of yourself that you can. Stop recycling old patterns, bad habits and versions of yourself that got you nowhere in the previous year and start showing up for yourself more and that includes lifestyle, daily habits, and those you surround yourself with. Start taking responsibility and accountability and then you can make every year the best year of your life. Everything was so good but our absolute favorite were the beef short ribs! So so good!
