We might be on holiday but we still wanted to wish you a Meri Kirihimete and a Happy New Year from our little whānau to yours! 🎄 📸 @tomgrut
And just like that, Bellator is no more 🥺🪦 If anyone remembers that girl in the first slide, you would know she was a 23yo Māori who grew up on the Gold Coast and had a knack for running it straight at things she really wanted. So we went all in on MMA and ended up in San Jose on Bellator debut, having no idea what the next few years were going to look like. The last slide was 8 fights later, hair a little longer, hopefully a little wiser and in Dublin. 5 of the craziest years of my life spent with the most INCREDIBLE people (that I don’t have photos of all of them on this phone). Some experiences that really shaped me and some memories I’ll forever be grateful for. I never posted when I didn’t get resigned after Dublin but I always wanted to credit the amazing crew that worked behind the scenes. When you’re doing your job there’s nothing better than being met with a group of enthusiastic individuals that genuinely LOVE their job and the sport. Some of these guys have been with Scott from the beginning all the way from Strikeforce or even earlier at his gym. Grateful for the people that I got to meet, the opponents I got to share the cage with and everyone who was involved. Deuces @bellatormma, you made this little brown girl v happy to be a part of something special ❤️🔥✨ PS. We had too many ‘Mike’s’ working at Bellator, it had to be said
