Joely Richardson Instagram – This is a right melee of photos. Some are from before, some during. I ve never had a party for my birthday- thought I should do it just once. With the state of the world, the fires the floods, and the atrocities we are inflicting on each other – just couldn’t celebrate. Loved ones ill and passing. So we had a ‘Gathering’ for many Jan born days- from 8 yrs old to 88 (mum). 2 ‘60s’, a ‘50’ and more besides. I chose the Garden Museum , a charity, by Lambeth Bridge on the River Thames- by the Covid Memorial and Westminster across the way. It symbolised those that have gone before, those present, and those to come ( 4 pregnancies in attendance). The trees the books the stones hosting- rhubarb, mimosa, cherry trees , and pomegranates ( the apple of love). Great chaos and creativity ensued : music, poetry , tango, spoken word -Thankyou my friend @lionheartfelt for your brilliance. Thankyou Richard and Brad for helping with the wishing tree- wishes written on seed paper for us to plant. 🌱 . Thankyou to my doctor who sang opera , and all the loved ones that came out on a Sunday night . It couldn’t have happened without Carla @teasmelondon and Toby @tobyandersen warmth and humour-If music be the food of love, and vice versa .
