This court case (US v. Skrmetti) questions whether it is it fair to deny trans people care just BECAUSE they’re trans. 🚧 Gender-affirming care for minors usually is non-medical, social things like clothes, pronouns, or name changes. But when medically necessary, doctors prescribe the SAME types of medications and treatments that non-trans patients receive without pushback. Ultimately, the goal is to allow trans youth to develop socially and personally in a non-threatening, comfortable way that allows them time to figure it out. Some trans folk opt for surgery at a later point, some don’t. But it should be THEIR DECISION.—EASY! 💁🏾‍♀️ Trans people want the same things everyone else does—to live freely with access to healthcare, housing, jobs, and safety. We want to thrive and have the same opportunities as every human. WHAT SYSTEM DO YOU THINK WE ARE UNDER? Interestingly the hashtags used to described the themes in this video have been blocked. I gagged. I think the word most people in America would use to describe the country is capitalist. Which is obviously true, but there is a difference in describing an economic system versus a system of government which can describe where citizens stand in relation to the government and one another versus the systems of control that the is exerted over the citizens, that system of control can come from an elected government, a monarchy or royalty, a dictator, a religious figure, or billionaires. How would you describe the system of power in our country currently? Is this the type of democracy you learned in school? Did you learn about other systems of power? SHOULD THIS BE TAUGHT IN SCHOOLS MORE READILY?
