My home in Malibu has got me through some of the darkest moments in my life. I have loved creating it, embellishing it, building it, caring for it, and protecting it. I’ve cherished every moment I have had with it. As the fire draws closer, I pray for it—- I pray for everyone in Los Angeles right now. What an incredibly terrifying moment for my community. As the fire reaches our doorstep, please stay in contact with each other; Community in times like these is our lifeline. We are all safe but the fire is inching closer to my slice of heaven in Malibu. When I was waitress at the Malibu Adobe back in 1989, I dreamed of a home like this (FOR ME) and worked my butt off for it. I am sad but I am sending all my love to all the first responders and firefighters who are literally giving it all they’ve got to keep us safe!!! Love and Prayers always- Sandra Lee

I was able to go to Malibu late yesterday. It is with a heavy heart for my local community, yet the most shocked and grateful heart I share my home, Avalon- still stands. I could not believe my eyes to be one of 10 in my neighbor of homes still there. I do not know how. I can only assume it was the quick action of our firefighters. I’m in total disbelief. I feel guilty for being a part of a bubble of these homes spared. I have such sadness for the people who have lost their lives, and I grieve for the families who have lost their loved ones. There are no words to express my emotion as these fires still burn out of control. My heart remains with everyone in Los Angeles, my numerous neighbors, and my two most wonderful girlfriends who’s homes are gone. I want to take a moment and give thanks to the brave firefighters, police and national guard. My endless gratitude to the selfless first responders, numerous volunteers and all the other community support teams who continue to work tirelessly. I hope you join me today to say a prayer for LA and our communities. Thank you for keeping all of us in your thoughts. For me, I will thank God every day. Sandra Lee
UPDATE: Last night, I was told that my house was lost in the fire. I didn’t sleep all night. All I did was cry and think about it. An hour ago I received call from my real estate agent saying that my house was still there as was the neighbors houses. My neighbor received a call from her dear friend Who said she just drove past the houses and they’re both gone-Everything is gone! I received a call from my insurance broker who says he can’t even get down the street and no one’s allowed on PCH. I have not been in my house in two days. I have no idea what is going on. This is the most stressful thing and I’m just trying to stay calm, but I FEEL AT SUCH A LOSS. I can’t see my house, I don’t know if my friends and family’s homes or my own home stands. I’m completely anxiety ridden, I’m totally emotional and I feel incredibly overwhelmed, but the most important thing is that everybody is OK. I am praying for our homes, memories, and our community. My heart breaks for the neighbors I know who have lost their homes. Thank you to everyone who has reached out. I just don’t know. But this time reminds me of my grandmothers favorite “footprints in the Sand” It’s in gods hands” Sandra Lee
“BIG NEWS!! I HAVE BEEN APPOINTED the newest member of the White House Historical Association’s Board Council (started by Jacqueline Kennedy)! IT WAS SO FUN TO BE AT The White House for the grand opening dinner of “The People’s House: A White House Experience,” which is a cutting-edge educational interactive experience – it’s like being at the White House and some ways better because you experience recreated moments in history. The incredible 3D and Digital mini-museum type experience brings to life the stories of the Executive Mansion, the people who lived in it and the people who have dedicated their careers to it. You can even see all the holiday magic recreated and some of the most meaningful meeting throughout history. Of course, I was also most enchanted by the fabrics, furniture (mostly French Empire) and flowers (The Scottish Rose Carved nearly everywhere and on everything)-DIVINE. Antique Roses adorned the tables of the lavish seated dinner hosted by President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden and was attended by esteemed members of the White House Historical Society as well as Martin Sheen (the experiences orator and most wonderfully sweet man), President LBJs daughter Luci Johnson (what a necklace she wore), President Fords daughter Susan Ford Bales (who shared moments from her childhood on our private tour together as “SHE GREW UP THERE”!-the stories, the parties, the hidden wall that remains in the White House from the fire in 1814, Wow). What a moment. What an honor. So Special Most Grateful, Sending Love to you always, Sandra Lee -AKA Aunt Sandy

So much to be thankful for! There’s no amount of gratitude I could offer all the hard working firefighters and first responders who put their lives on the line to keep us all safe. The true definition of HEROES. LA coming together like it has this past week literally brings tears to my eyes. I’m so proud to live here. Through darkness, the true light at the end of the tunnel is- community. Together is the only way forward. 💙 Love Always, Sandra Lee
With everything going on last week, the time simply got away from many of us. I know we are all still sad and overwhelmed, but I would be remiss if I didn’t take a moment and acknowledge the passing of the great, Jimmy Carter. GOD BLESS President Carter for all of his contributions to the Human Race. It is President Carter who put FEMA in place, which helps so many rebuild their lives. He also created the incredible Habitat for Humanity, which I had the long-time honor of working with. Personally, I am so thankful for his thoughtfulness, love, compassion, for his example and legacy. What a gift to humanity. I have had the good fortune to be able to build homes with Habitat, housing that surely will redefine generations of families to come. These have been some of my life’s most wonderful experiences. I hope I get the chance to do it again for the many families displaced in Los Angeles. It is with the most gratitude that I hope you Rest in Peace and Glory!! Love and Respect Always-Sandra . . . . . #jimmycarter #presidentoftheunitedstates #humanity #kindness #hardwork #restinpeace
