This trip was to help pay tribute to an absolutely incredible human who unfortunately left us way too soon & spread her ashes in the #Ganges in #Varanasi. I am so saddened to wake up & see that we have lost a tremendous champion of peace & human rights, former President Jimmy Carter. He truly shined after his term as President, winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for mediating international conflicts, promoting human rights & democracy, advancing global development & public health, & supporting peace treaties. He was a strong proponent of women’s rights, he combatted human trafficking, supported initiatives addressing climate change & sustainable energy & had a strong focus on renewable energies & environmental conservation. I was lucky enough to meet him while filming a show on my ancestry, learning that he was my distant cousin, as my grandmother’s maiden name was Carter. I never got the photos taken of he & I though & had always hoped that one day they would surface. Thank you for all of the incredible work you have done for the planet & humanity, Mr. President. If only we all could accomplish half as much as you have, this world would be unstoppable!
