I have always been a fan of your immense talent, humilty and sense of humour (the anecdote of how you and @adman.madman convinced me I had to kiss you on the lips in this commercial, and features in the legendary Director’s book #AdmanMadman @rupangisharma_ , continues to give me a giggle!) The prude in me was adamant I would only kiss when in love so I got more and more nervous as Prahlad yelled good humouredly that it was crazy to refuse to smooch #KingKhan insisting I oblige, and then you both burst out laughing saying it was a joke, immediately putting me at ease! A megastar playing a joke on a newbie with such humbleness and fun was endearing. And sure enough the kiss was a peck on the cheek or a cheat kiss. This story continues to be one I love to recount! My respect for you has grown as recently I’ve had the privilege of meeting your kids. And I am impressed by how friendly and warm and polite they are, and talented. Kudos to you and lovely @gaurikhan Suhana @___aryan___ Suhana was always so warm, hardworking and sweet on set and out. PS My red lips are so cringe haaha as our kids would say! As am I in this! Congrats all the kids who stood in the elections and woohoo our Zen for winning President!!! Kai is current class rep so we managed a photo of both brothers in their badges which is hard to do as getting teens to pose as you know is not easy haaha So proud of you boys ❤️💜🧿🩷 As always it is not just about winning, losing, winning winning but all the lessons one learns too. Won’t ramble on but given they are v independent and almost secretive in not letting us hear their speeches etc beforehand, we were happy to be invited to the lovely #Investiture ceremony at their fab school (which I am an alum of too) and witness Z’s vote of thanks. Being someone who loves public speaking and @roopaksaluja does too and Daddy #partapsharma was known for it, must admit I feel he must have a hand from above in Z’s speaking prowess. Lots of hard work ahead and lots to learn, hopefully being empathetic leaders. Onward and upward touch wood😀 Sorry about the gushy Mummy post, but yep while raising #teenagers is quite a roller coaster of emotions, where praise and reprimand seem to balance out, celebrating victories and milestones is an indulgence many of us parents I think allow ourselves. #staysafe

Post a happy what’s app exchange was reminded of all the memories that go with this photo..Our fun times shooting for #thearchies Sorry a bit blurry. #Films bring people together often from different walks of life, and a sort of intense bonding experience follows for the length of the shoot. I admit I am grateful to have enjoyed all my co actors’ company across all my 21ish films and made some close friends on some film shoots too, but something about this one, where for the first time I was playing a parent and most of my other fellow parent actors were too, created a different sort of bond. And not sure if it was the casting and #mixed feel of the film or what but we all seemed to be on the same page, similar values, lots of good conversations, lots of laughs and solid friendships. With the rest of the cast, the super kids, captain and crew too, but this post is about the parentals! Not all in the pic. For starters like me fab @suhaas.ahuja is a #UWC alum. There are not that many of us in the world and I don’t think many in our film industry so this was an immediate connect. I went to @uwcadriatic yonks ago and he to @uwcatlantic , both on scholarships. Schools modelled on mini UNs where diversity, inclusion, helping bring positive change and more are intrinsic. We didn’t know each other before the film, but this shared experience initiated a bond that proved real and then ofcourse we discovered lots of other similar values, including our love of acting and performing. @koel.purie always fun, warm and making fun of me haaha proved to be a super fellow Mum actor. Lots in common. I’m definitely going to be teased for my rambly post by her and probably told good humouredly to zip it haaha! Satyajit, intense, experienced, warm and so lovely too. @alyykhanofficial , who I knew from earlier as he’d acted in a play my Dad, #partapsharma wrote , #begumsumroo way back and we always had a warm bond. Always so charming, fun and reassuring. @kamaalsidhu , who I’ve known a long time too. And more recently re connected with having met at several football events our kids are obsessed players. Happy Belated B’day Fredu and Alice. This started as a wish but alas❤️!
This episode was actually about #inclusion and it was v insightful. It had fab @iambobbydeol on #thetarasharmashow talking about dear friend @indirabodani ‘s fab Gateway School. In this snippet I asked Bobby what sort of #Dad he is and his sweet response praising his lovely wife @taniadeol had us all grinning. Bobby, so happy for your sort of come-back success with #Animal and more. A huge congrats! One of the sweetest co actors I have worked with. I loved our scene together in #bardaasth . A real Star. For once I didn’t choose a literal track and search #diwali haaha.. Our kids tease me that my #reel songs are usually way too literal and cringe so I hope this is approved. It’s apparently #trending (I googled ‘what tracks are trending on insta?’ 🤣Yep sharing my clearly not very savvy posting strategies haaha!) Thanks @teddysphotos #afterglow for coming to the rescue! How do you choose reel tracks? #Teens know exactly what songs are cool, not that they post on insta yet, but somehow they just know. Guess it’s an age thing. Hey we are far from old. We’re young parents of #teenagers and I pride myself on being pretty cool, or so I think but this posting strategy clearly sets me back but this song seemed good for this what say? Somehow @roopaksaluja gets less ‘you’re cringe’ comments than moi! Maybe as he hardly posts! Please send me names of trending tracks so for my subsequent reels, I avoid being too literal & cringe! Any other parents of teens relate to being called cringe regularly? And are you taking any steps to un-cringe yourselves? I wax eloquent on how cool our gen is btw! PS This is ofcourse all in jest. We adore our kids and vice versa (though verbal admission is less frequent than my constant reiteration, yep I say #iloveyou to our kids at least 3 times a day. Happened naturally at first, bedtime etc, any calls, then habit, now just part of me. They sometimes reciprocate & sometimes teen silence but I did read somewhere that it’s good & important to keep saying anyway. No idea why I have digressed from my #throwbackthursday picture post to this analysis on #parenting teens, but it truly is a huge learning experience as is each phase of life I guess. #thetarasharmashow was born out of my #blog #diary as a new mum so I guess it is natural it evolves as we grow, the kids and us. Running with my #dog ❤️ or rather one of them (sounds #meme ish haaha what say?) Running with our #kids and #dogs is a highlight of our #farm time.. 🐾🧿 As are long #walks in the jungle with @roopaksaluja and led by my Mum #Gaaga to our kids . A v English thing to do, go for walks! And something that I am glad is synonymous to our visits here as much as there are other sports and activities and ofcourse lovely family, friends, food, flowers and good ole gadgets, as little kids they grew up watching Mum go for a long walk morning and evening and me run so it is just part of the experience. This is just a lil of me and one of our dogs on a little run as getting videos of the kids walking requires all forms of polite requests and permission haaha! Have a super day all. #mixedthatsus
