Alba Flores Instagram – I recently joined Greenpeace on their expedition to the Galápagos. I am still very moved by that experience – but later came an even bigger surprise! The scientists that I met on board the Greenpeace ship discovered what could be the first known smooth hammerhead nursery in the region. They even managed to track one shark, and they decided to name it Alba after me. I am so touched. Knowing that a shark now bears my name is a humbling thought and an important symbol for me, and it commits me to protecting the oceans even more. I’m determined to continue to speak out on the subject and support the people who work every day to defend this amazing wildlife.
