📍We made it to #Mahakumbh For long I’ve been very fascinated by it and this auspicious year, (The Mahakumbh happens once every 144 years! Read the rest on google) I got to do a quick 24 hours here! There is 1 month left for all those that want to make it here and while there a lot of comprehensive info you’ll find around, here are few quick tips: 📌 While you may see this as a spiritual trip it is more chaotic than peaceful. But that bustling energy is one-of-a-kind! 📌 This is not a trip you can wing, plan it and plan well. There are about 23 Akhara, Temples, Sanan at the ghat etc. So figure out what you want to do before you go and always keep extra room for travel time. 📌 No matter how much you plan you’re not going to get to do it all. There is constant rush, temporary/bad roads, blockage, all your planned activities are going to have unexpected delays. So embrace that happening. 📌 Staying in the tent set ups by the ganga is recommended cause it will reduce travel time to and fro! We stayed at the @kumbhvillage We had a lovely stay, great vegetarian food by the Taj, and they went out of their way to make us comfortable with great service! 📌 Juna Akhara (It’s also one of the largest) to see the Naga Sannyanis and Aghori Babas. Here there is a lot of smoke/smog in the air, your eyes will water (if you have eye issues, maybe carry eye drops). It was also suggested to us, not to eat anything given here as it might have intoxicants, so at your own risk. However we did eat the satvik bhojan they served at other akharas it was very good! 📌Figure out the acharayas’ you’d like to meet and the schools of thought you’re interested in to hear pravachan/reading from Gita/Purana/Ramayan etc. Keep an open mind, you might not agree to everything you hear you don’t have to take it back with you, but you might find something you want to 💌 #Kumbhmela #prayagraj #kumbh #india #mahashivratri
