The sun still rises, the world moves on,
But it feels so wrong now that you’re gone.
The birds still sing, the streets still hum,
But my heart feels heavy, my voice feels numb.
This home, this town, this city we knew,
Every corner reminds me of you.
Our gossip sessions, our late night drives,
The little things that made our lives.
Why did it have to happen to us?
Why you, Nandu, why this loss?
This was no age, no time to go,
Life is cruel in ways we’ll never know.
Almost everyone gets a second chance,
Another day, another dance.
But you were gone, without a sign,
No warning, no hint, no final time.
We’re all here now, for you, my brother,
Your friends, your family, one after another.
But this isn’t how it was supposed to be,
Not this gathering, not this memory.
This is the worst pain we’ll ever know,
An endless ache that won’t let go.
But life moves forward, so must we,
Even if it hurts unbearably.
