I promised the producer of this song, Richard Perry, that I would take him to Hawaii if You’re So Vain got to #1 on Cashbox or Billboard. How about it Richard? Which island? @musicman1942 @billboardcharts
Coming across this old upright piano in the attic, Ben and I decided to sing what was on our minds. I voted early for Kamala and Tim. Make sure you don’t leave this til’ the last minute get out and vote now for Harris Walz!
We were the lucky ones ….Why couldn’t you have beefed up the clap track? #CarlySimon #SNL50
I’m one of the lucky people who got to occasionally visit with Judy in the wee spaces in the afternoons when she was up for a conversation, a laugh, a song. If I’m not wrong or if I’m not overly bragging, I think it might have been James, my husband way back when and myself, who first introduced Judy and John to the Vineyard. I knew her all of a sudden many times and I will especially remember her this last season with The Ukulele Ladies and their songs, as well as the song I am proud to have collaborated on (four in the morning) with her. My son, Ben, was mixing her music with Luke, sitting on the couch just a few weeks ago. Oh Judy what a large, laughing, loving space you have left. I love you and will always relish your dearness. It will fan out gently always, through time and space.

I am exiting the stage ahead of James after we sang Mockingbird at the NoNukes concert in September, 1979. The jumpsuit was made by Marcia Trinder, who was also known for making stage outfits for Mick Jagger. I remember going to the dressing room to slip into something a little more comfortable, only to realize I had to get back into the tight striped jumpsuit and on stage for Dylan’s song, “The Times They Are A-Changin'” with James, John Hall, and Graham Nash. 📸: Peter Simon #CarlySimon #MarciaTrinder #MickJagger

Something special is coming this Friday… ✨ a newly remastered and re-imagined version of my 1971 song, “Share The End”. In this version, I’m thinking more about what’s happening everywhere in the world and how to move forward while treasuring what’s behind us. Stay tuned! 🎶 #ShareTheEnd #NewRelease #CarlySimon
Out now – “Share the End – 2025 Remaster” – produced once again by Paul Samwell-Smith, who helmed the original 1971 recording. This newly remixed edition features fresh contributions from Peter Vettese, with Frank Filipetti handling the mix, while preserving the original performances by Jimmy Ryan and Andy Newmark. Carly says: “’Share the End’ always felt like a hidden gem—quiet but powerful. Today, in a time of war, real and phony despots, division, and dishonesty across the globe, it sometimes feels to me the world is still going up in flames—five decades after I first recorded this song. In the original, I was reflecting on personal relationships, but in this version, I’m thinking more about what’s happening everywhere in the world—how to move forward while treasuring what’s behind us. Working with Paul, Peter, and Frank brought out a layered, almost cinematic quality to the song that feels like a natural progression of its story.” “Share the End – 2025 Remaster” is available now on all streaming platforms. #CarlySimon #HiddenGem #PowerfulMusic #TimeOfWar #GlobalDivision #CinematicQuality #NaturalProgression #ReflectingOnChange #MovingForwardTogether

Some songs are time capsules, capturing a moment in time while also transcending it. Written with longtime collaborator Jake Brackman, and recorded by Carly in 1971, “Share The End” reflects the upheaval of the early ‘70s, with its dream-shot images of “strutting kings” and “stirred-up madmen.” Today, as the world faces similar rhymes of chaos, uncertainty, and division, its message remains unsettlingly relevant. The newly remastered and reimagined version brings fresh depth to the song’s haunting melody, reinforcing its timeless relevance. “Share The End” (2025 Remaster) arrives this Friday. 🔗 Pre-save at the #linkinbio #CarlySimon #ShareTheEnd #Remastered #MyGeneration
