It’s easy to be happy when things are going well, when you hit a career high or fall in love. But when your industry is in a rebuild year, when you’re reminded grief is a motherf*cker or navigating health complications and injuries all year, when things feel harder than they have in a long time, it can feel harder to choose happiness. These are the moments that test you, show u you’re stronger than you thought, remind you that you can weather the storms and appreciate the next high because there’s always another, but honestly, idk if I could do it w/o the ppl in my life that love me, include me and support me even when my light is dimmer than usual. Building the plane as we fly it…All hands on deck. 💪🏼 Connecting with friends & strangers for the common good of rebuilding our city has been a joy amidst the rubble. It’s going to be a marathon, not a sprint. (One of these days I’ll listen to my own advice.) One week in, and we’ve handed out 1100 meals and counting. THANK YOU to the generous individuals and kitchens for working miracles and feeding our heroes and neighbors. ‼️‼️ I love LA. This is my home. It’s the place where little kid dreams come true. 🎬✨🏄🏻♀️ If you’ve seen my stories lately, you’d think this is now a disaster relief account, but I am in fact still an actress. Chris Sweeney enlisted me to grab 50 hot meals for residents in Altadena, one of the communities hit hardest by the Eaton Fire. Done! It’s definitely the house I grew up in; food = love. We activated our networks. 🌐 OVERNIGHT, LA Fire Meals got me those 50 hot meals from @genghiscohenla and @homestate Pasadena whipped up another 100 to feed our front line with @wckitchen. Noel STUFFED her truck w/ supplies from It’s Bigger Than Us & @we.love.camp while Jess purchased requested goods through contributions. 🥡🌮🧤 On our first food run, we met Jeannie. Together, we committed to provide hot meals to residents and first responders for as long as we could. Jeannie has been massive outreach. Noel, tirelessly working behind the scenes and I’ve been boots on the ground. We’ll shift our efforts as needed, but now with Jess and Vanessa, I’m afraid we’re unstoppable. 👇🏼 Thank you ALL for making our efforts possible ❤️ Thank you to our sheriff escorts, patrolling deputies, National Guards protecting the area, utility crews clearing and cleaning, and ofc our badass firefighters from all over the world who’ve forgotten what time off looks like as they battle fire and wind. 🚨👮🏻♀️👨🏻🚒🚒 It is my honor to serve you.
